As you get older, what body parts are not as firm & youthful as they used to be...and what products are you using to fix it or hold back aging?

For me, I notice my under eye area gets a little crepey & the skin doesn't bounce back right away like it used to. This is more apparent when I'm dry/dehydrated...so obviously drinking water helps a lot. Also, I really love Clinique Repairwear Eye Cream. I don't think it's repairing anything, but the texture is nice & thick, it soaks in really nice, and isn't greasy or heavy.

My neck skin gets a little crepey sometimes too, for the same reasons as above. I was SHOCKED when I first noticed this. I really need to put forth an effort to take more care of this area.

My hands still look fine, but when they dry out, they age by at least 10 years. I really like Neutrogena New Hands, but I also really love Dr. Scholls Ultra Foot Cream for my hands. Super moisturizing. It soaks in really quick, and makes my hands look very smooth & youthful for several hours after I apply it.

What are your rough spots and what are you doing for them that works?

That is a good question! :)

Eye cream every night...when I started using it, it was for dark circles. But it also helps with tiny lines and puffiness. My undereye area looks pretty good actually. I started out with Lab Series for Men Eye Rescue Undereye Therapy, which got "reformulated" to Lab Series Age Rescue Eye Therapy, whew what a mouthful...it's a small white plastic tube and I get it at the men's fragrance counter. The "reformulated" version seems the same as the old one.

Sunscreen every day...I use a tinted sunscreen. Since it's my "foundation," I'm sure to put it on every day before going out.

Sunglasses...I'm really lazy, but if I feel myself squinting, I'll put these on.

I try to sleep on my back, which never works:rolleyes: But I really do try. If I sleep on my side, I try not to mush the side of my face into my pillow.

I've gotten back into exercising...it's been so cold and rainy and yucky this winter, I stopped going out. Ugh. It's hard to get back into the swing but I'm determined not to sit around and be out of shape.

I color my hair...I colored it before it started getting grey, so I've never actually seen myself grey

Mostly...I try to have a positive attitude. I know that can sound trite, but I think there are a few key aspects to staying young...and the older you get, the easier it is to just give up, and say screw it...it's much harder to still care, and still try, and still try making more out of your life.

I try learning new skills...because it's important to stay sharp. The brain is like a muscle, you use it or lose it.

And remember: 70 is the new 60...60 is the new 50...50 is the new 40...40 is the new 30...30 is the new 20. :D

Hands are looking less young, a few lines around eyes, a few grey hairs. Using self-tanner and keeping hands moisturized helps them, I keep my undereye area plumped up with plenty of moisturizer and creamy concealer (Max Factor Panstik (sp?)), and I just started using that John Frieda color stuff that you apply in the shower and wash out after just a few minutes (can't remember the name of it). I've been told I pass for lower 30's and I'll turn 40 in 2 months.

I already get lots of exercise and drink more than enough water most of the time. I could stand to be more diligent about sunscreen.....

The best thing I've done recently is tone down my haircolor. All of a sudden I looked in the mirror one day and realized how aging the overly bleached highlights looked and my features seemed washed out and faded.

I went into a more natural dark blonde, and went a little darker on the eyeliner and now my eyes just pop! I love it. Also, went a little shorter on the hair, I have a sort of modified inverted bob -- easier to take care of and my dh actually says I look 10 years younger! It's perfect -- fresh looking and not too short that I can't pull it up in a pinch.

Also, sunscreen every day, exercise and eyecream. I love PX super line preventor eyecream and have tried a sample of the Clinique repairwear -- it's nice too.
You do notice little subtle differences, though, as you get older. One day I just happened to see my elbows and thought, when did this happen? They looked a little wrinkled, or looser I don't know how to explain it, but I never liked my elbows anyway. Also, I can't wear really heavy earrings -- all of a sudden they pull my earlobes down in a wierd way. Oh well, it could be a lot worse!!

I really don't think there are any magic products out there for any of these issues though. Just keep using what works and pay attention to your skincare diligently.

Fresh Roses, I recently went to a darker hair color and I agree 100% about it making me look so much younger! I loved my blonde. Other people loved my blonde. No one really "loves" my dark...but I think I look so much more myself and not trying so hard.

I'm also getting my eyebrows darkened when I get my colors, and that takes a few years off too. My brows are white-blonde naturally, and not really visible without some help.

The best thing I have done is buy NIA24 to get rid of my sun damage on my chest. That has helped a lot.

I am waaay older than most who post here, but love makeup etc. I don't use anything other than the lotions and creams from the stores, no botox or the like. Other than my neck and hands not to bad for my age. Neck, I think is sort of inherited, seems if your Mother had the sagging, you will, unless you weigh alot less. I have the freckled hands from the sun, am very fair. I also visit the dermatologist about every 6 mos. The latest spot is on my forehead, nothing to be worried about but its coming off one way or another!
Tell me your favorite lipsticks...colors too ladieg

See, I was trying to indicate this to a friend of mine the other day. She's several years older than me, and she's always had very bleached hair. When I saw her a couple days ago her hair was darker, and I told her it looked better on her. She looked younger and her skin was brighter. But she ain't gonna listen, and she said the next time she's getting it done it's going back lighter.

I'm 22; I get a random grey hair here and there and I just pluck them out of my head. :p
