I am looking to get into some new magazines and was wondering what everyone read. I read More magazine for the first time last weekend and really like it! It is very inspiring and smart! Does anyone else read More? What do you read?

I read More and really like it, but sometimes it seems a little overly sophisticated. The clothing can be really expensive and some of the articles are pretty deep, but all in all it's a decent resource for us over 40's.

I also read Allure and In Style for beauty and fashion and various other magazines like Cooking Light or Shape for my other interests.

Thanks! I will pick up an issue of Shape occasionally, usually depends on what is on the cover.

I think More is an aspirational magazine and that is why some of the articles are deeper. I am not 40 yet and like that the magazine illustrates to me what I want to be at when I am. The idea of reinventing yourself at 40 and being who/what you want to be is really inspiring to me.

I looove "Bitch" magazine which is like a feminist pop culture type genre. The only place I've seen it sold is Borders/Barnes and Nobles type places. I also like Glamour, Psychology Today, Utne, Lucky...

My problem is that I will buy a magazine, flip through, look at the pictures but I never actually read the articles and then I throw it on my coffee table and forget about it. It is probably because I usually pick up magazines that feature celebrities and I am only interested in what they are wearing or where they are traveling! Is anyone else like me and only gets a magazine for the pictures? What is it about a magazine that makes pick it up you read it? I have to admit, the cover always gets me! Katie Couric on the cover of More definitely got my attention (I love her) - I am happy I expanded my view because I actually read and enjoyed this one!

I like Everyday with Rachael Ray. I love her cooking shows and her new talk show so of course I hafta get the magazine when I can find it. I am trying to learn to cook and her recipes are usually easy. She gives tips on travelling and entertaining and sometimes fashion and beauty. I don't even cook that much honestly but for some reason I love this magazine! Also I like Oprah magazine. She has some good stuff in there. I am only 23 so of course I like Cosmo as well!

I don't like to cook much either, but I have the Rachel Ray cookbook (my bf's mom gave it to me for christmas this year...hint hint!) and her meals are pretty easy. I feel like I always see recipes in magazines and think I would like to make it but I never do! There was one recipe I just saw for a pink drink that looked so good that I actually really am going to try, it is basically just strawberry sorbet and prosecco! yummy! Much easier for me to make than a meal!

I have to say I've picked up Oprah several times....or O, as I believe it's called. I actually wanted to read the articles, and the inspirational quotes are really cool too. Kinda pricy stuff in the ads, of course, but I can see the mag in all being relevant to me for quite awhile.

I read Rachel Ray mostly for the recipes (most of her recipes are simple and they always turn out well for me). I also have a subscription to Vegetarian Times. My favorite magazine was Organic Style, but it stopped printing over a year ago, a reason was never given.
I am getting to the point where I'm getting bored with magazines though, because they pile up and after awhile, the same information gets recycled anyway.

I read InStyle. I subscribed for years & stopped. I just subscribed again & actually glad to be getting it again.

Every once in a while, I'll buy copies of:
Self
Vogue Knitting
Lucky

I subscribed to Taste of Home (cooking) for about 4 years and finally stopped that subscription. In my opinion, after about 2 years, the mag seems to get redundant. Unfortunately, this is a mag I cannot throw away old issues. It's like throwing away cookbooks...so I've got a box of these mags stored in my closet. I do go back and look at them occasionally.

Allure and Glamour are my two favorite magazines. I'm a magazine junkie. I read both of them cover to cover.

Magazine junkie here, too :p ... it seems that I can only manage to squeeze in little articles at a time, so books have to wait 'til I have more time LOL.

My current subscriptions:

*Allure
*Glamour
*People
*Woman's Day

Don't laugh at my choices :) I have moved away from alot of "fashion" mags because I got tired of the media's idea of "beautiful".

I saw that More magazine and Wilhelmina modeling are doing their annual model search. I love when they feature the finalists in the magazine, I think it is great that they are so real, like the women in the Dove commercials. Is anyone planning on sending in their picture?

I finally subscribed to Allure and Glamour. I got very cheap deals on 2-year subscriptions for both!
