I finally went to the Dr. after being sick for 9 days. I thought I just had a cold at first but it wasn't going away. Anyway my Dr. put me on Avelox for 10 days and Entex (which is a decongestant and for coughing) and I've been on it for 4 days now and some stuff is better but some stuff is worse! I've been coughing a lot more and now I feel like the Sinus Infection moved to my chest as my chest now hurts and it wasn't before. I've been sick now for 12 days and I'm beyond sick of it! I have to get better by next weekend as I'm going away on a trip and I don't want to be sick! I'm worried that I won't be better as it seems to be sticking around but I'm wondering if I'm just worrying to much and antibiotics usually take longer to work then 4 days. Only reason I'm questioning it is because last time I had a Sinus Infection and got an antibiotic I felt better within 2-3 days of taking it. Is it normal for me to still feel just as sick after 4 days? Am I just being impatient? lol I'm thinking of calling the Dr. again on Monday if I'm still sick, you think that's a good idea? Thanks for listening! Any advice would be appreciated!
P.S. I hope the other girl on here suffering from a Sinus Infection is better now! :)

It could be that the meds are not working. I would definitely get checked out again as you said it seems to have moved into your chest. If that's the case, then it could be bronchitis or pneumonia. Or it could be that you have chest congestion that's just breaking down. Are you coughing up mucus? I just got over a sinus infection. Well, I'm still kind of getting over one. I still have some drainage. After the first 3 days of being on an antibiotic, the head symptoms began clearing up, but then I started coughing more and coughing up mucus because my sinuses were draining. If you're concerned about it, call your doctor on Monday. It may not be necessary to make an appointment. Just tell them what's going on and that you didn't know if you were getting worse or what. From there, they'll decide if they need to see you again.

Coughing up more stuff is not a bad thing necessarily. What color is it? What worries me is that you said it has moved down into your chest. Is it just pain? Does it hurt more when you breathe (could be pleurisy which is common with pneumonia and is extremely painful) or is it a general ache? If it is a general ache it could be from coughing more. However, do call your dr and see what he/she says. Another possibility is that what you have might be resistant to the antibiotics you are taking.
Oh, please go to the doc again! THat happened to me a few years back and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. :( I ended up with pneumonia and was knocked down for almost an entire summer. I was reduced from being fairly active to gasping for breath walking to another room. It all started with a sinus infection that migrated down. Part of the problem was that doc was hesitant to prescribe antibiotics because she thought it was viral. Which ended up very unfortunate for me. I finally got better after several tries of different antibiotics.
Anyway, please go see the doc soon before it gets worse. And hope you recover quickly!
