Anyone wanna join me in my challenge? I've decided I'm drinking way too much pop lately, and I need to hydrate with water and not just any old liquid I can get my hands on when I'm thirsty. I can see that my skin is looking drab and dry. I know I'm making bad choices out of convenience.

The Water Challenge is this:
I will drink nothing but water for 1 full week. I will allow myself my coffee in the morning as normal. I am not detoxing, or changing up my eating habits or lifestyle during this week...I'm just getting off pop. I am not forcing myself to drink more fluids than normal...I don't have time to go pee every 20 mins, and my problem is not lack of fluids...it's my choice of fluids.

1 week is easy. If I can do 1 week, I should be able to continue. I'll post my progress. Anyone want to join?

Haha, I love it when people say "pop".

Anyways. I've done this before. I drank nothing but soda. My favorite was Pepsi and I felt like crap and had constant headaches and my skin was red and dry. I took myself off of it and now I drink soda maybe 2-3 times a year- and that's when I have a rum&coke when I go out drinking. I drink nothing but water, milk, or juice now

You may get headaches at first like I did. Keep at it though, drinking water makes you feel great.

I'm with you! I will keep drinking my one cup of coffee or green tea in the morning, and sometimes I either have a glass of milk or juice before bed. Other than that I will stick to just water!

My skin is dry lately from the new skincare I'm using (which I expected), so this can only help.

It's funny you mention it, I wanted to see if I could not drink soda and it's been about two weeks now and I'm doing good, I wanna keep it going, too :) The only thing I've been drinking is water and some Vitamin Water once in a while, some herbal tea once or twice a week. So far so good :)

I'll join! I don't drink as much soda now as I used to, so this shouldn't be too tricky for me.

I'd say I'd join, but I haven't had pop/soda in probably 20 years. I drink water almost exclusively (with the occasional cranberry juice). I don't drink coffee or milk (a bit lactose intolerant), and have soy milk when I have cereal. Otherwise, it's water.

I still break out, which sucks, but at least my teeth look good!

I don't know if I can join you guys, but drinking more water is great for you. I try to drink more water nowadays. So besides milk, water is my main source of liquid intake. I do occasionally crave for some Sprite tho.

Good for you. Soda can rot your teeth.

Actually, I got off soda because my orthodontist told me to. And he made a very big deal about "no soda" because with my braces it was going to rot my teeth and I have a hard enough time brushing with braces.... *blah blah blah*

Ever since then I rarely drink soda. I don't drink tea or coffee either because of the caffeine. So it is just water for me.

Ooh this is what I need! I'm currently trying to kick my diet soda and iced tea habit, since it makes my poor teeth yellow.

I must commend those of you who don't drink soda/tea/coffee, and make water your #1 beverage of choice :)

I know, right?

I love my morning Dr. Pepper or Mt. Dew, and I LOOOVEEE coffee and iced tea.

I don't drink coffee, and I hardly ever drink tea. I drink mostly water and juice. I love lemonade, and have that a lot with dinner and just water throughout the day. Soda always makes me feel bloated and more thirsty. I don't feel that I need to take the water challenge because I drink mainly water, but good luck to those of you who are trying it!

I really, really need to start drinking more water. I'm so addicted to caffeine. I tried to give it up cold turkey and had horrible withdrawal symptoms, so I started drinking it again after three days. I'm all about diet sodas, coffee, etc. The one positive thing that I did notice, however, was that my belly seemed flatter without all those carbonated beverages in my system. I was so happy at work that day, saying to all my co-workers, "Look how loose my pants are!" LOL. Maybe I'll give it another go and wean myself off caffeine instead of cutting it out completely from the get-go.

Doing good, 95% of what I've been drinking is water, anything else is either skim or soy milk or Crystal Light. Feel better, too :)
