I was hanging around my local drugstore today, and I found was eyeing the psyllium fiber capsules. They reminded me of a conversation I had awhile back with an acquintance, who said they're really good for "cleaning out the basement" :p

She also mentioned that they give a feeling of fullness, and supposedly help to lower cholesterol.

To be honest these claims sound too good to be true, but then again they could be true. Does anyone take psyllium fiber capsules, and they actually do work? TIA!

I take a fiber capsule supplement from Digestive advantage. I have bad choronic constipation and along with my Amitiza prescription they work great!

I dont think it can hurt to add fiber to your diet.

I just bought some whole Psyllium husk in a large bag. I used to take the Psyllium husk capsules but they are rather expensive. I prefer the loose Psyllium husk because it is easier for me to take a few tablespoons of fiber by mixing it with wheat grass/barley grass powder in a tall glass of water and chugging it down.

Yes, it is great for cleansing. I have been trying to consume more fiber in hopes of reducing my appetite but I am not sure how well that is working out (I think I like to eat too much). I think that most fibers help to reduce cholesterol. Overall, it has been good for my digestion so I will continue with it.

It will help to clean things out so yes you will lose a few inches that way but eating fibers with nutriotional value is better like whole grains and fruits and veggies. Plus with pysillum you need to make sure you drink lots of water as it does draw lots of water to move things alone.

I suffer from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), and I find that psyllium husk helps a lot. I have it in a powder form that disolves in water or juice. It's called Metamucil, not sure if it's available in the US. My partner calls it "Human drain cleaner" lol. It is very good.

I take Yerba Prima capsules daily. I used to take the powder form but I find the capsules are much more convenient.

We have some Metamucil at home, but I've never really paid much attention to it. Usually I'll eat fiber cereal and it works for me, but lately my fiber consumption has gone down due to not being able to sit down for a decent meal(thank you school...). I guess I'll be giving the Metamucil a try(it's here, and it's free!) :D

When do you all find it best to take the fiber pills? In the morning or at night?
