gigantic! I'm hoping to find something that just a little bigger than a large birth control pill. Everything I have come across is a huge tablet size and I tend to not take them if swallowing is a chore. Many of the brands on the shelf don't give you an idea of the size of the actual pills...

I did have a bottle of AAFES brand multis that were the perfect size, but I don't have access to their brand anymore.

Any ideas?

If its got a line across it you can split it in half. You can get pill splitters from the drugstore. I think they all are big as they time release.

I take Flinstones multivitamins because I can't swallow large pills. They work just as well for adults as children.

I take Target brand prenatal vitamins as my 'multi-vitamin' and they are about the size of an Advil. However, prenatals differ in the amounts of trace minerals/vitamins found in regular multi's...they don't have a ton of calcium, so I take a separate calcium suppliment (which are generally huge, so I doubt my recommendation helps you in the long run, now that I think about it).

You might want to try the one a day packs. The packets split up the vitamins into multiple pills. Each one is smaller but then you have to swallow more pills.

I think Andrew Lessman's (HSN.com) multivitamins are split into smaller gelatin capsules which are very easy to swallow.

You should be able to find a chewable one at a health food store, maybe even at Walmart etc. The pills you said you used to take...couldn't you buy them on line? I'm not familiar with AAFES. I don't for the life of me know why they don't show a size on all bottles of pills...don't they realize that a LOT of people have trouble swallowing pills!? My husband can barely swallow pills since he quit smoking:rolleyes:

Just an FYI, I wanted to add that TUMS can also be taken as calcium supplements. It says it right on the container, and my doctor recommended them to me once. I know that my mom takes them daily for calcium.

I also have trouble swallowing pills, and I agree that they should put a picture of the 'actual size' of the pill right on each package. It would help a lot of people.

I have the same problem. I use Centrum's chewable multivitamin. It comes in an orange flavor, and tastes good. Definitely try it. The only thing is that you're not getting the same % of each vitamin as the regular Centrum. HTH.
