I LOVE Vitamin Water but it's too expensive at almost $2 a bottle.
I don't like the lemon juice idea, sour water-bleh.
Is there any cheap way to spruce up water?
TIA:o

I don't care for plain water either but I am forcing myself to drink it. It is all because of my teeth. I don't want to stain my teeth since I spent a lot of money and pain on teeth bleaching.
I used to like green tea, Crystal Light, or even sugar-free Koolaid. I have been adding wheatgrass powder to my water but not for the flavor. HAHA!!

take a wander down the baking aisle at the groceryshop and you'll find those little bottles of flavouring for icing and all that, just add a drop or two to your bottle of water, shake and drink.
ones I can think of that would be yummy are orange, cherry, strawberry and vanilla.
maybe use a bit of splenda to sweeten the lemon?

I used to hate drinking plain water too. I must have been either severely dehydrated or on serious sugar overload for several years because of it.
Now I'm drinking two litres of water a day, or close to anyway. Mostly out of a bottle at my desk at work. I wish I knew what changed my ways, but I actually find anything else too sweet now. Water is all I really drink now.
Maybe if you set yourself a goal to drink 500ml of plain water a day, then up that amount each week you could slowly get accustomed to it? Otherwise I don't know what you could do to sweeten it. Perhaps lime juice instead of lemon? Still a little sour but it could be more refreshing.

What about green tea or tea in general? I'm not a plain water fan, but I don't like the kool aid and crystal light stuff, so I make lots of iced tea. I have an iced tea maker so that helps though. Different teas provide different taste such as white tea versus regular green tea. I try to buy organic (don't know why, but I do) and I don't sweeten my tea. If you work and your job allows for you to have drinks at your desk, you can reuse a tea bag throughout the day. Just a thought! :D
Oh - Topaz rec adding lime to the water. I do that sometimes at home. What I do is take pitcher of water and add a few thin slices of lime to it and let it sit in the refridgerator for a while. It gives the water a slight lime taste (not as strong as limenade) which I like and it helps me to drink more water. I do think it's an aquired taste though- I mean, you have to like limes. ;)

I like to add crystal light to water. MAybe that will work. They have many different flavors and formulations
I also got used to drinking water and find a lot of other stuff too sweet now. I drink 100% fruit juice (i.e. no added sugars) but sometimes still have to water it down because it's too sweet for me.
If you want to spruce up your water without adding unhealthy stuff to it (including artificial sweetners and colors), maybe try drinking herbal tea? You can make iced versions of it without the sugar (might take a little getting used to). Just make sure it's herbal and noncaffeinated. If you don't add sugar or cream or anything, herbal tea is like zero calories. In other words, like water.
Some yummy ones I like are chamomile and rooibus (this has a natural slight sweetness to it). Aveda also makes a tea called "Calming tea" which is basically mint (refreshing) and licorice (has a natural sweetness). It's delicious.
Hope this helps.

They have such a variety of bottle packets...teas, lemonades, all kinds of drinks. Once you get used to drinking liquids in general I think you'll like plain water more.

While I tend to drink anywhere between 60 to 90 ounces of water a day, I'm not really a big fan of it. It took me awhile to get used to drinking it, but I had a few tricks to ease myself into the process.
At first I would make a mixture of half cranberry/half water and guzzle it down. The little Crystal Light packets are also pretty tasty! :)

I was a big fan of the Crystal Light lemonade packets. I started out putting in a whole packet and then started cutting down little by litte...now I love regular water, the packts are a little too sugary and sweet for me!
I'm also a big fan of green iced tea!
