View Full Version : Birth Control Spotting?

I used Nuvaring for over a month and a half (suppressing my period) with no spotting until that time. For about two weeks now, I've been spotting every day (nothing more than one pantyliner a day can't handle). I've changed nothing else. I know spotting is common with new birth control, especially if you supress your period, but would it just show up now, after so long of no issues? TIA

I have heard with the pills like Seasonale, which only gives you 4 periods a year I think, you can have spotting on and off for a year or so. I imagine the same would be true for the nuvaring. I'm not 100% sure though.

That's definitely normal! Your body is trying to get used to no period and it takes time. I'm almost done with my 6th month of Seasonale and I just had some spotting a week ago.

I'm on a new pill myself this month, spotting galore.

It's totally normal, so no worries.

That happened to me too, not long after I started using Nuvaring. Just like you, it seemed kind of random and out of the blue. But at least for me, it was a 1 time thing and I never experienced it again. I wouldn't worry!

I have a lot of spotting issues with the Nuvaring. I am doing the continuous suppression with the Nuvaring too. After a year of spotting every month it subsided. I rarely have that problem now.

I haven't used Nuvaring but I know there is a chance for spotting when you supress your period. It took me awhile to find the right one for me since I go several months between periods.
