Ok...I'm being a little dorky posting about this but I'm so excited! They have FINALLY came out with a generic Allegra and Effexor. FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY! Even with insurance, both of these used to cost me $30 a piece. And I have 3 other scripts every month for my asthma. So with these finally going generic, they only cost me $5 each. I'm so excited!
At least I have insurance and I am thankful I do have insurance. But prescriptions can still get pretty costly even with insurance. It was a nice little surprise at Walgreens tonite! lol My stupid Serevent still cost me $26. My Asmanex costs about $30 and my singular costs about $25. Yeah, it sucks. So that's why I was all happy when my allegra and effexor only cost $5 each.

Yaaay! I take a generic Zoloft and apparently it's working (I still get out of bed every morning and haven't gone crazy yet). :)

I was on medical leave for my depression and finally got switched to Effexor. I know it's working cause I'm back to work and while I do have depression episodes - they aren't as severe and I can usually pull myself out of them. They're more like I'm just kind of bummed out in general rather than flat out depressed and crying all the time. I am tired of being on all these medications though.

Aw, that's great! I know I wouldn't be able to afford birth control if there were no generics...$50 a month on a college kid's budget? No way! Now I only have to pay $15 a month (my stupid insurance raised it from $10 to $15, oh well).

Generics are great...being uninsured, I love Walmarts $4 generics program.

Im so so so excited for my insurance to start next week! I HATE paying full price for drugs - I had to get a Z-pak for a sinus infection just a few months ago & even the generic was $40

That's great, Michelle! I know I hate paying crazy prices when there's no generic. I just found out my Zyrtec is going over the counter soon, so I'm hoping it won't be too expensive. At least then they'll start making a generic of it... just hope it'll work as well.

That's awesome news, Michelle! Prescriptions sure can get costly. I too am grateful for having insurance. I'm still waiting for Nasonex to go generic. I also just found out my insurance won't cover Yasmin or Yaz anymore so I have to search for another BCP. They always seem to mess with BCP.:(

I am grateful that I have great insurance too. I pay $10 for all my prescriptions from my bc pills to my acne treatments. I'm glad to hear that about Zyrtec too, Erica. I used to take Zyrtec. I wonder how much it will be. A generic would be great. I'm currently taking a generic of Claritin since I don't see an allergist anymore.

Yup, be grateful that you have insurance. Even though insurance prescription co-pays might seem costly, it's nothing compared to the retail prices of medications. Right now I'm unemployed and no longer have insurance. I need Advair for my asthma, and w/o insurance, it's $230. When I had insurance, it was only $40. And there's no generic version of Advair.

I took Allegra for years (don't need it anymore...figured out my allergy), but really glad to see a generic has come out. If I ever need it again, I'll have more options!
