So I'm usually a pink and red girl as far as my nail colors go, but I was thinking of doing something different this fall/winter and getting a dark shade. I know Chanel's Vamp and OPI's Lincoln Park After Park are cult favorites. Any opinions on which is better? I love Chanel just for the name, but it IS about double the price of the OPI so.. it'd be good if it was worth the price.
Opinions?
I have very fair skin, with pink undertones, and I don't want a completely 'black' polish that would look goth.. more of a really rich plum or even chocolate brown shade just to go nicely with all those great fall outfits.
Thanks so much for your help guys <3

I got my nails done with Lincoln Park After Dark a few weeks ago, and the nail tech did two coats and it came out stark black. I recommend definitely doing only one coat if you want the plum to show. I wish I had.

I agree with Marisa, see how you like it with just 1 coat. I made the same "mistake" with Essie Wicked (which is the same shade as LPAD and Vamp...but I'd rec LPAD b/c OPI's brush is so, so much easier to use). I actually liked the look, but maybe because I knew it was deeeep plum I could see the red tones...I went over to my parents' house and when my mom saw my nails she was joking, "gee, Kate, black nail polish? Do we have some unresolved teen angst issues we need to go back to?" :)

If you want a rich plum, but want to avoid a color that's overly dark for your fair skin, I actually would suggest OPI Boris and Natasha. It isn't quite as dark, and is a bit more plum IMO, than LPAD. I can't compare any of these to Chanel Vamp though.

i have and use both. i feel that theyre totally different.
vamp is a darkened burgundy and doesnt have any plum/purple tone to it. even with 2 coats, it's not black.
lincoln park after dark is a blackened plum. with 2 coats, there is a glimmer of purple in the sun but from more than3 ft away, it loks black.
if i were u, id go with chanel vamp. it has red tones to it and is quite a wearable dark shade. ive been using it since 1996. keke.

Vamp sounds wicked sexy. I might check it out when CT is over.
