I started taking Centrum Kids b/c the regular Centrum Multi-V was really big. Is it giving me the same effect as the adult pills?
Percentage wise, It's all 100% DV of vitamin C, iron, etc.
I have a horrible diet so I'm taking a multi-v to compensate...should I be taking any other supplements?
Suggestions & Comments welcome. Thanks!

I'm not sure. I think as it's made for kids, the percentages might be based for like an average child or something like that. If I want to take a mult-vitamin, I have to take children's as well cause adult ones always make me feel sick. I think I would get overloaded on some of the vitamins cause my body didn't need as much as it was getting or something. That's my theory anyways. LOL I figure it's all good as long as your getting your multi-vitamin in some way. lol

I take the Centrum Chewables multivitamin. It's for adults, and tastes good. I have the same problem with swallowing the huge regular Centrum pill. The chewable one does not have the same number of vitamins in it. The original Centrum has everything, the chewable is limited. HTH.

It's perfectly fine to take a children's vitamin-I take Flinstones ones! They work just as well for adults. I asked my doctor to make sure (I hate swallowing pills) and he said it's A-OK.

When one of my old friends was pregnant, she took a Flintstones vitamin everyday instead of a prenatal vitamin. I always thought that was funny LOL.

Thanks gals!
I hate swallowing big pills too. In fact, I used to always gag on them when I try to wash it down with water. It would literally take me several tries to get it down.
But I found that it goes down a lot easier with food. So I would take a bite of something, chew, pop the vitamin and swallow everything together (sorry if that's too much info!). I think most of the time it is the anticipation of swallowing a pill that makes it hard. Physically, it should be no problem as we eat all the time! lol. :)

That's a good point. If you really want to take kid's vitamins, maybe check with your doc first. Otherwise try the food method I mentioned or try to get chewables.

Its funny because usually the childrens dose for those chewable vitamins is 1/2 a vitamin and the adults is a full one. I take the knock-off flintstones vitamins from Sams Club, and they all have an adult percentage on them. Make sure you get a vitamin/mineral though, not just vitamin.

I know your q has been pretty much answered;) but I thought I'd add that I've heard from a few doctors and nurses that it's better to take vitamins that you take more than once a day. If I'm not mistaken the higher the percentages of a vitamin the less you actually absorb upon taking it. Another thing about the ones like that is that they're easier on the stomach and can be smaller. I had one from Trader Joe's that you have to take 5 times a day (you work up to 5 so you can get used to them) and they were the easiest vitamins I've ever taken (I have tons of stomach problems)

When I was pregnant, my OB recommended children's vitamins if the RX ones or regular OTC adult multi's made me sick. He said they were the same except the dosages of iron in children's were zero or just a lot less.
