Does anyone have any advice besides vitamins to get my hair growing fast. Is it at all possible? Right now I have Victoria Beckhams do. The longest length of hair is at my chin. I need it to be at least shoulder length all over to have it put up for a wedding. Any tricks/tips that work for you? At this point, I'm desperate. I started growing it out about 4 months ago but everytime I go in for a trim it's back to where I started. Ahhh! Short hair is so hard to grow out especially if I have lots of layers.

There really is nothing you can do short of taking really good care of it. Healthy hair won't break off, so you'll get better growing-out results. You could try vitamins, but they take several months before you may see a result.

When my hair was shorter than shoulder length I could still get it up in an updo.

I got mine to go from the average 1/2" a month to right at an inch/month. It's specific supplements that help, not just general vitamins. There is tons of info at: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4

DarleneH,
What supplements do you take? I have hair to my waist myself so I'm interested in what you take to get it to grow so fast. I'd love mine to grow that fast so I could get rid of the split ends I have a little faster. Thanks :)

Maybe you're getting your hair trimmed too often? I haven't had mine touched since March of this year. I'm trying to grow mine out too, and it's grown a lot. Frequent trims seem to be recommended, but I really baby my hair and don't have any split ends to speak of. I no longer color or heat style my hair, and that has helped its health. I also take Hair, Skin & Nails vitamins but I haven't been taking them long enough to see a difference yet.

How often do you wash your hair? My stylist told me that the less you wash it, the faster it grows because the natural oils prevent dryness and split ends, which both affect growth. Are you telling your stylist that you're trying to grow your hair out when you go for trims? Make sure he/she is only taking the bare minimum of inches off.

Thanks everyone.

Dar, thanks for posting that site. I forgot all about it.

Heather, I have it trimmed once a month. I have to trim it. There's a lot of layers and if I go without my hair won't work with me. LOL. I can't bear the thought of having bad hair days until it's long enough. I might stretch it a little longer this time though since the shortest layer at the top is almost even with the nape of my neck. If that makes sense.

Marisa, I wash it once a day. I keep telling my stylist that I'm growing it out. Last time I went in she was distressed about her personal life and ended up taking too much off while she was telling me about her problems. :(

I started massaging my scalp every night. I've been doing this for a few years now. I swear it grows so quickly. The layers around my face need to be trimmed weekly. I have to do it myself cause I can't get a real trim at the salon. You could try that.

I agree. Scalp massaging is good stuff.

The only way to grow out your hair is to not cut it. Using shampoo only a couple times a week prevents dryness and therefore breakage. This helps grow hair "faster".

If you need to clean your hair everyday just use conditioner. It's enough to clean mildly dirty hair. I learned this from beautyriot.com, it's a great website. Visit it and you might find more beauty tips and growing out hair.
