Where do you get your hair done?
It seems that there are pretty varying prices among the usual things done at a salon: cut, style, trim, color, highlights, and wash/blowdry.
For trims: I prefer The Hair Cuttery (http://www.haircuttery.com/ourservices.html#), as they have a flat fee for cut, wash, and blowdry of $20, I believe.
For highlights, glaze, color, or major cutting: Salon Cielo (http://www.saloncielo.com/hair.html/). (there's their price list).

When I get my color done I go to Bubbles or ColorWorks.
For trims I go to the lady who's been cutting my hair since I was 2. She works at the JCPenny salon at my mall. I get a lot of crap from my friends for going there but she's the only one who knows my hair.

I mostly just get trims, so I go to Great Clips or Hair Masters.

My stylist is at Hair Excitement, which is a hair salon inside my local mall. She rents her chair there.

I usually get my hair cut at this place called the Majestic they are pretty good. I usually get it colored there as well but this time I want to try another salon for color as they don't listen to me.
I get my hair cut at a little place, actually, just up the road from me. The stylist has a teeny hair salon in the back of her house. I've been going there since I was about 9.

I actually don't currently have a place. I was going to one (which I'm blanking on the name of) but they have a new manager and last time I went she was...terrible really. My hair is so thin I can't wash it everyday but she sat and complained that my hair wasn't clean after she'd used three different products on it (and not small amounts of any) then she told me how she was going to cut my hair (because she decided that we have the same face shape and the cut I wanted doesn't look good on her) talked non stop to someone else, decided she'd answer the phone when someone else could have and told me that I so need to dye my hair (which at that point was natural) because my (again, NATURAL) highlights weren't pretty enough.
So yeah, I think it's time for a new place;)

Wow, Sam, she's a piece of work. I guess no one told her she wasn't the center of the universe. I agree you should find a new stylist. ;)
It's annoying when stylists try to push you towards a style they want and not what you want and even more annoying when they try to push a dye job on you. I had one try to "convince" me my hair would look "so much nicer" if dyed a lighter color. She was pretty snooty about it, too, as well as insistent. I never even hinted that I wanted to change my hair color. All I told her I wanted was a hair cut. My hair probably would've needed to be bleached in order for the color she wanted to show up anyway. Oh, please. I told her I was perfectly happy with my naturally black (healthy, shiny) hair, had no desire to change my hair color according to her whim, and to get over it. After that, I did find a new stylist.

I go to a Japanese salon which I am so happy with. See my rave under Japanese salon. They really are different and not pricey at all.

I go to a tiny mom-and-pop shop called Starling Salon. It's run by two ladies in their mid-50s and it's located on the Main Street in my town. They do a good job and I like that I'm usually the only one in there since it's so small. Sometimes if I want to pay less I'll go to the student salon in my town. They do a great job but it takes foreverrr because every little snip is evaluated.

I go to a local salon. My guy is Joe & he's awesome. I don't like to get in a hair rut, so we are constantly tweaking & doing different things. I give input and let him do his thing.
He also colors my hair too & he's not afraid of color. I totally trust him, so...as above...I give input and let him have at it.
I've been let down a couple times, but it's not enough to make me want to change.
In the past, I had trouble with my stylists moving around & losing track of them if I liked them. Joe owns the salon...so he's not going anywhere.

I go to a woman who lives near me. She converted her garage into a salon, it reminds me of Dolly Parton's place in Steel Magnolias. She's awesome. I get cap highlights, a cut, blowdry/style for $45.

I go to a local beauty salon called Beauty Spot. Got a recommendation when I was looking for place that does bridal/wedding party hair. I had such a great experience (my wedding day hair got lots of compliments), I decided to go back for my haircuts. I've have the same stylist ever since (2 years ago) and I really trust her.

My stylist works in a salon inside a beauty supply store. I completely trust her. I went to go get highlights done the first time she worked on my hair. I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to highlights because the shade always comes out blonder than I'd like so stylists tend to keep adding toner to my hair which frustrates me. Well, the first time I went to my current stylist, she 'studied' my hair and explained to me that she was going to be testing the porosity of my hair and see how the highlighting process would work on my hair type/thickness. Yeah, she made highlighting sound like a science, which I appreciated very much. During the entire time, she was taking notes in a small notebook which she had sectioned by different clients names. I found that interesting. She wrote down a recipe type formula for the highlighting creme she mixed together for my hair type under my section in her notebook and other stuff. The highlights were the perfect shade.
I've gone back to her ever since. She just flips open her notebook and does a fantastic job every time. :)

Hey... I used to go to Hair Reflections :D But... not since they moved to the Summit. And because my favorite stylist there left and started his own salon. But I used to love it!
I go to a place called Hair Therapy.
