Does anyone shop/browse here?
I never really liked this store. Thought the clothes were very "old-lady-ish" and very conservative mid-west. Mature cuts/styles and prints. Pants are polyester and tapered...too many elastic-waistbands on pants. It just wasn't for me. I hadn't been in a DressBarn store for years.
Last fall, my best friend was begging me to go to DressBarn with her (she had some super coupons) so I agreed...while making fun of her the whole time. LOL!
I was pleasantly surprised at what I found in there. Looks like they've caught on to some updated looks. I've been back several times & have made a few purchases.
Many pants are still tapered & elastic-waistband...but I was surprised that the selection included more modern styles too. It's now a option for me if I need to find classic trousers for work or casual-nice. It's not my first choice...but it's now on my list when I'm on the hunt. Lots more wide-leg and straight-leg options these days. I don't find boot-cuts in there.
The tops & jackets: Okay...there is still a lot of ugly old-lady merchandise to sift through...but they really do have some cute, stylish, well-cut/fitted tops & jackets mixed in there. This is an especially good place to look for button down collared shirts for under jackets & etc. Tops are more fitted & have nice collars & necklines.
It's one of those stores where 90% of the stuff is not for me...but that 10% I find is actually super-cute and things I end up wearing as staple items.
Also, if your body type is curvy...things fit here & are cut for women in general. If you are more straight without curves, you may not be impressed.
As for the quality of the clothing, that seems to be mixed here. I haven't had problems with what I've bought, but in sifting though, the lower quality things stick out pretty easily.
My Conclusion: It's hit or miss...but when it's a hit...it's a really good hit!
