I always wanted to try a cake. I looked around online for a simple one. It's so hard keeping fuzz out of the white clay.:( I used the shimmery clay to make it look like there's a strand of pearls around the base.

I filed the cake with some sandpaper.

Aww they're so cute.
Have you ever been on Craftster? Some of the polymer clay stuff there is pretty cool. Gives me ideas! :D

You should make some of those cakes and market them as wedding favors.

that's a good idea- definitely you could make wedding favors in the design of someone's own cake!:)

I know!:) I'm waiting for a friend or family member to get married so I can make a model of their cake. Maybe it could be a keychain, ornament, or just something to put on the fireplace.:D

That IS such a fabulous idea! Does anyone really need another ceramic swan filled w/Jordan almonds LOL? I think that these could be a great product to market to future brides, as could all your other designs for various events (birthday party mementos and whatnot)!

I just started this one. I want to put the orchids and roses on each tier of the cake with the ribbon.

I love both wedding cakes. The second one is the best. Great job Rach!! Let us see how the second one is when it's finished.

Just finished a rose one. The clay was so dirty I had to paint it white after I baked it. It turned out nice though. It looks like icing. I'm obsessed with roses now.

Rachel, that's so pretty! It's crazy how detailed you can make these tiny things.
Do you bake them in your oven?

Rachel, if I sent you some pics of my wedding cake, do you think you could make one? It had seashells on it. I'd pay you of course! :) I just loved our cake and I think it would be great to have a keepsake.

Yeah, they take about 30-45 minutes to bake.
You really are talent. I love all of these. My toaster oven gets hot fast and cools off fast. I don't think it keeps the temperture well. I ended up messing the clay candy canes I tryed to make at Christmas:(

Just out of the oven. Artistic looking watermelon slice and a stripy heart pendant.

Not polymer stuff. But I ordered some Swarovski crystals finally so I could complete these flower hair clips I've had for awhile.
