I got paid yesterday, and since I don't have many clothes here at the hotel suite because of the fire, I decided to pick up a few Spring pieces and a new purse. I went to New York and Company. I got a new beige trenchcoat which I am in love with, a couple of really cute 3/4 length sweaters in blue and white, two pairs of yoga pants and two pairs of yoga capri pants for the gym, and three pairs of chinos in green, khaki and black. The chinos are really nice, especially for work, and they're the perfect length so I don't have to have them hemmed. Better yet, they are a size 8, so it looks like I've lost a few more pounds! (I'm sure I have, with all the stress I've been under and the fact that I have no appetite).

At Old Navy I got four tank tops to go with my yoga pants for the gym. I got white, black, and two colorblock ones that I believe are grey, white and teal and then grey, white and navy. At home, I normally would work out in just a sports bra, but obviously I can't do that here.

I went to the Hallmark store and got a new Vera Bradley Betsy bag. I lost my Vera Bradley Betsy bag in the Medallion print in the fire. It didn't burn, but it's at the house and smells really bad. I'm still going to try to wash it a couple of times to save it, but the professional dry cleaning company that comes in doesn't send out shoes, bags, or belts because it's not worth it (at least to them) so I've had to buy all new accessories. Luckily I was able to shop on the clearance racks for clothes and boots, and I even found a pair of knockoff Uggs by this brand Bear Paws. (My Uggs are still in the house too. Again, there is a dry cleaning company that will clean them, I just don't know if the smell will come out.) I've bought a lot of other things that I haven't had the time to write about. I needed some more winter sweaters, so I got some last week on clearance. I also got two more Spring jackets - a black trench at Kohl's and a Vera Wang light grey anorak that is really stylish. It's weird, but my family and I almost feel guilty for buying new things, but we really don't have a choice. We had to buy all new socks, bras, underwear, pajamas, winter coats etc. It hasn't been easy.

Anyway, I got the Vera Bradley Betsy bag in the Kensington print. I really love it. It has brown and black in it and blue and other colors. I went all out and got the matching wallet and cosmetics bag. The cosmetics bag is so nice because it's even lined in plastic so you can wipe it clean. I'm going to get another one soon - I want the new Daisy Daisy print for Summer. It's a mix of mint green, blue and teal. The new Spring/Summer prints are up on the website, so check them out! My MIL actually just left a little while ago to go buy a new Betsy bag herself. Her's smells pretty bad even though she had it with her the day the fire happened. :(

Today half of our clothes that the professional dry cleaning service has cleaned will be delivered to us. We're not sure what will be in the bags. We will receive the other half of what they took to be cleaned in another week. Those items need to be either dry cleaned or hand washed. I guess what we are getting back today are the items that they were able to wash, dry and fold. I'm curious and scared at the same time to see what we have left. I'm hoping I'll get my winter coats back at some point, and the Spring coats I had. I'm also hoping I get back my summer clothes. They were stored in plastic tubs. Otherwise, I'm going to have to buy a whole new summer wardrobe, and I just did that last summer.

I'm feeling a little better with my new things, and honestly I'm appreciating them a lot more. Some of the things we will get reimbursed for through the insurance company. My MIL took my receipt for my Vera Bradley because she feels I should be reimbursed for it where my old one is in the house. The other clothes that I bought I told her not to worry about. I bought those with my own paycheck, and I had planned to go shopping with this paycheck even before the fire happened.

I'm glad you got some new things that you love, Marisa. It sucks, but I imagine being surrounded by new things will be easier than dealing with the old as a constant reminder. I hope you're feeling better. :)

Great haul, I'm glad you love the new stuff! I've always felt neutral towards VB but I really want a tote in the Daisy Daisy print...I bought a little ID holder in it and adore the print!
