Has anyone tried the new razor? This is the one with 5 blades on it. I bought one yesterday for only $2!! CVS has the starter packages on sale for $9.99, with $6 Extra Bucks back, which makes it $3.99. I had a $2 coupon, so it came out to $1.99. I got such a great deal on it!! The starter package has one handle w/cartridge, a refill cartridge, and a shower wall holder thing.
The sale is going on now until Saturday. Definitely get one if you're interested. I have yet to use mine, but it looks pretty good. The only flaw is that because it has 5 blades, the blades are now much, much smaller than the usual blade size. And they're very close to each other, so it looks like it'll be harder to rinse all the hair out. To me, this would be a good razor if you shave every day, or frequently, while your hair is short. HTH. :)

I actually bought this a week ago when I lost my original blue Venus in the fire. I used the original blue one for years, but had been wanting to try this one anyway. I love it! The five blades are a lot smoother and shaving is a lot easier because the head is wider. Plus, the little holder that it comes with is so cute. Definitely try this one ladies!

I am always pulled in by new razors! But lately I asked some guys if there really is a difference between different razors and the answer has be NO! I am assuming that if men can not feel the difference between razors, women definitely shouldn't. I think it's all marketing in the end. If the razor ends up being good, let me know, I may be mistaken. :)

I have heard the same thing from men too. I still feel a difference between the original blue Venus and this one though. My skin is a lot softer and smoother with the Embrace.

I have to disagree. My HG razor is the Schick Quattro, which has 4 blades. This by far gives me the closest shave out of everything I've tried. I'm gonna try the new Embrace over the weekend. :)

I use my Gillette Venus Divine - and was interested in seeing if there is a substantial difference with the 'Embrace' razor... sounds like a couple of you have had some luck so far, maybe I'll give it a try when I run out of Divine blades (I have like 12 left haha).
My Husband likes his 4 blade razor too (essentially a Quattro but I don't recall the brand - it was from the UK). He learned all sorts of tricks to keep it sharp longer and swears by it. Hope he can find a suitable replacement over here!

Hm. That's interesting, because I know that *I* can tell the difference between razors. I use Schick Quattro for Men because I like the heavier handle, and it seems like the blades are sharper, although I guess I could just be imagining that. I hate the Venus blades because of the way the head is shaped and feel like I have to go over the same spot several times over and over again. And then... every time I use a double blade razor I cut myself....
But... I've been so happy with my Quattro, I'm not sure if I'll switch. Although it's worth a try. Razors are really important to me, haha.... I shave every day, religiously, so I like them to be just to my liking.

I love the entire Venus line and i've been getting all the new razors as they've been coming out. I like the embrace. The handle is softer, but I didn't notice much of a difference with the extra blade. Then again, with my hair growth, 2 blade would probably be enough for me. LOL.

I do wonder how many blades are REALLY necessary...I can see a difference between 2 blades and 3, but 3-on gets kind of ridiculous.
