Is there any bar soap out there thats actually good for oily skin that is acne-prone?
Drugstore, all natural, high end...I don't really care. I just want something quick & easy to wash my face with on those nights that I am dead tired before hitting my pillow & don't feel like doing my 3-step skin routine.
Thanks :D

I like Biggs&Featherbelle Barbados soap. I use it in the shower.

You can order it from their site or Urban Outfitters. Whole Foods sells it too.

I fell in love with Carley's Natural soap a few years ago when I was using Carley's Clear and Smooth Treatment (they give you a free soap when you order the treatment but you can order the soap by itself). The treatment was great but acne isn't a problem for me anymore. My skin is oily and their soap is great for those quick face washes when I don't want to bother with the whole routine.
What I especially love about the soap is that it doesn't leave your skin feeling tight and dry after like most soaps for oily skin but rather nice and clean.
Here's the link to the site:

How wild you posted about the Carley's natural soap-hehehe. It's what I've been using here recently. I stopped using the Carley's Clear & Smooth stuff long long ago when I discovered ProActiv, but I still had a couple of those huge natural soap bars. So I've been using that, but now I'm craving a soap that has a pleasing scent to it, instead of no scent at all. Silly, I know, but I want to feel refreshed & revived after washing my face. :p
That soap from Biggs & Featherbelle sounds amazing, but there are no places near me that sell it & I don't want to pay the shipping online since I would end up paying $10 for one bar of soap-hehehe.
FYI: For anyone reading my thread & curious about the Carley's soap, here are the ingredients:
Coconut, Olive, Soybean & rice bran oils (no animal ingredients), natural shea butter (from West Africa), mango butter (from India), apricot kernal oil & castor oil.

I've heard good things about Indigo Wild Zum soaps (Whole Foods carries them).
This lady also sells a wide variety of homemade soaps, along with other things like shampoo bars, lip balms, and lotions. Here's a link:

I haven't tried them myself, but I did give samples of the bars as gifts last Christmas, and everyone enjoyed them.

www.jlynne.com has some soaps. The owner has oily, acne-prone skin herself so she can make some really good recs. I have a code if you PM me. I will be out of town on the 15-19th just in case I dont hear from you before then.

Kiss My Face Olive Oil bar soap is good. My friend has oily acne prone skin and she swears by Neutrogena's Cleansing Bar.

I used to use an Aveeno acne soap that I really liked, but that was when my skin was very oily. I'd probably find it too drying these days.
I like Aubrey Organics Soaps. Right now I'm using Evening Primrose and Lavender. Indigo Wild Zum soaps are good also.
2nd the KMF Olive Oil bar soap.

This is kind of OT but I checked out that site and I was very intruiged by the Mineral Matte Priming powder so I ended up ordering a sample of that and a couple of shades of the foundation. With summer just around the corner, I'm excited to try the primer. :)
I agree with the Kiss My Face olive soap. It's gentle but cleans well so it won't aggravate the skin and make acne worse.
I've used the Neutrogena years ago but found it too harsh. At the time I was using the Neutrogena my skin was a horrible mess with acne. The soap just dried me out (in a bad way).

Most soap bars are not suitable for your face. The truth is that most soap bars in general are not good for any of your skin. Many bar soaps clog pores therefore causing breakouts. My recommendation for you is to look for a soap that is completly see through. This usually means that it does not have any pore clogging components!

I use to use Neutrogena soaps when I was a teen for my face and those soaps are considered "see through" but they never worked for me. Now that I'm using Carley's Natural Soap (not a "see through") I rarely get break outs and my skin has remained in great condition ever since.
I use Mistral soaps in the shower for my body and LOVE THEM! My skin seems in so much better condition and much more hydrated then with any other shower gel or bath soap I've used.

I have to agree with Claudia here, too. I recently started using The Body Shop's Vitamin E Soap on my body and my skin has never been this hydrated with any other liquid bodywash I've used. And it is not see-through. I've broken out from a lot of bodywashes, but this soap doesn't bother my skin at all. I say to each her own. It all depends on what agrees with your skin.
Kiss My Face olive oil soaps are really great stuff. I use this soap on my face and on my body and my skin is soft and clean, but not stripped.

I may have to check out those Kiss My Face olive oil soaps. I noticed though on their website that there are quite a few to choose from. I think my local Krogers sells these.

Could anyone tell me more about the KMF soaps? Do they lather or what? Your skin doesn't feel dry or tight after using them? TIA for the info.

I used the Olive Oil one, and I didn't find it to lather at all. It's kinda gross, but it was actually more like a slime, LOL. It cleaned well though, and I didn't mind the fact that it didn't lather. Just watch out though... it's so slippery!

Glad I didn't buy a bar of the KMF olive oil soap then.
Thanks for the input.
