View Full Version : Dang. Lash Blast Waterproof was horrible.

Sorry to offend any fans it might have ;)

But I do believe I'm actually going to trash it (stupid me, throwing away the packaging, or it WOULD go back) and I can't remember the last time I actually trashed a mascara based on horrible-ness.

The regular Lash Blast wasn't too bad. At least I managed to use up the whole tube before it started drying out a bit. I went back to using a MF mascara and then decided...hmmm I wonder how the waterproof version of Lash Blast is.

After using lash blast, going back to a normal sized mascara brush, and then going back to the LB brush, I decided I just can't do the brush lol It is way too BIG! And the bristles are so short, it tends to clump the ends of my lashes together b/c they aren't long enough to separate them.

And something with the formula of the waterproof is just all wrong for my lashes. Way to wet.

The good news at least, but something I also find annoying, is they aren't lying about the waterproof part. As someone on MUA said, this stuff is practically bombproof. I fell asleep with this on one night (I know, BAD ME, BAD), woke up the next morning, showered, and the stuff was still there! Whoa.

I'm sorry you don't like it! I want to try the WP version but I'm afraid I'll never get it off at night.

I haven't heard as much good stuff about the WP version as I have about the regular. The regular version is my HG. I'm on my 2nd tube and have no plans to switch to anything else. For me, the regular one is smudge/budgeproof so I don't need the WP version. Plus, I'm scared of how hard it might be to get off!

Sorry it didn't work out for you! I don't like waterproof mascaras in general.

I have to agree that the brush sucks. It's way too big and awkward for me. I have to be super careful putting it on or it'll get messy. :p I can't get into the corners of my eyes as easily as I can with other mascaras. I actually like the formula itself though and how it adds volume to my lashes. The only thing that gets the WP version off for me is a cleansing oil like DHC Olive Oil. I probably won't buy it again though. I don't know...maybe if they make the handle a little smaller. LOL.

I never bothered with the WP version because I HATED the original. It left my lashes feeling so heavy and brittle. I don't need much volume or lengthening anyway and it didn't actually do much in either department anyway. It also flaked like mad and even scrubbing with Mac cleanse off oil or Clinique's take the day off balm it was way too hard to remove. I actually lost mine after a month and didn't care at all. Went back to MF vivid impact and Maybelline define a lash.

That's too bad it didn't work out for you. In my experience, I have to say I don't think the WP version of LB is quite as good the regular (which is a current HG) but I still like it. I'm wearing it today, in fact. I've had no trouble removing it, but I use Pond's Cold Cream, which removes everything-and-anything in about 2 wipes.

bleh I'll be giving that one a pass.

Sorry for the disappointment.

I've gotten great results with the w/p version of this, but yeah -- it is HELL to get off, and I started using it just a bit before my LASIK surgery, so when I was finally able to wear makeup again, this was a no-go, because I couldn't take how difficult it was to remove. NOT for delicate eyes.

I didn't care so much for the regular formula, because like all others that are non w/p, it took the curl right out of my lashes.

I'm back to Maybelline Sky High Curves and various others to fill my needs lol.

Oh Sam that reminds me I started noticing the brittle lash feeling with Lash Blast (original & waterproof) They looked brittle too. I had a couple lashes fall out with the waterproof version. Eeek. No thanks.

Yeah, with me that's one thing I can't tolerate with mascaras no matter how dramatic they look, the brittleness some have. I loved how black LB was though but I'd never repurchase it, I prefer a more natural feeling mascara.

aw, disappointing! I was wondering how the WP version was, I guess I won't be trying it now :(

oh well the regular version is still my HG! :)
