A co-worker of mine has been looking for a vanilla fragrance, so I'm trying to help her out.

So far she wants something that smells like pure vanilla, but not cheap vanilla. She absolutely loathes the fragrances from Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works since they smell like alcohol. Oddly enough she does like Beauty Rush "Piece Of Cake" body spray, but it isn't long lasting.

She already tried out Comptoir Sud Pacifique's Vanilla fragrance, but it doesn't work with her body chemistry. I offered her a bit of my Aquolina Pink Sugar, but it didn't have enough vanilla for her taste.

Can anyone offer any suggestions to help the picky vanilla diva? :D

I like Hypnotic Poison by Dior. It's based on vanilla, although it has other notes in it too which are a bit spicy. It's worth a try. See if they have a tester at the counter.

I suggest maybe looking at a e-tailer....The Body Dessert Shop and Cleanse Your Soul are two of my favs and they have a ton of vanilla and vanilla blended scents. Plus everything is so cheap so its easy to try a ton. I love CYS's Let Me Count the Ways which is a Vanilla Bean Noel/marshmallow blend.

Tell her to check out Epicuean Shea Body Company. They have a fragrance called Sexy that is a blend of vanilla and sandalwood. It smell like a cookie to me.

From the drugstore, I remember "Dark Vanilla" really smelled good. I think it is made by Coty?

I've heard good things about TBS Vanilla. I also like Coty Vanilla Fields and Dark Vanilla -they also have a musky vanilla I can't recall the name of. Maybe it's just Vanilla Musk LOL. Lots of my favorite scents are heavy on vanilla but have other notes as well; some examples are Pink Sugar (which I guess you already tried), Britney Spears Fantasy, Burberry Brit, and Revlon Fire & Ice (although vanilla isn't listed in its notes, it smells vanilla-y to me).

I got a sample of Lavanila in "Pure Vanilla" from Sephora and it's pretty nice. The company is into making natural and healthy fragrances. They have also have it in "Vanilla Blossom" and "Vanilla grapfruit." I haven't tried those but I do like my sample.

Avon's Naturals Vanilla line is one of my most favorite vanilla scents ever.

TBS Vanilla is pretty good. I like vanilla, but find if its too heavy or sweet/foody, 9x out of 10 it'll give me a headache. This one is strong, but not overpowering. I like the oil...I seriously think the bottle will last forever, you use so little at a time. It's more of a vanilla perfume, it doesn't make you smell like you rolled in cookie dough. :) I also 2nd Ally's rec for Cleanse Your Soul...I haven't tried "Let Me Count The Ways" (but mmm, I think I want to!) but they have excellent customer service and are cheap!

The Body Shop & Yves Rocher both are good if she doesn't like VS. DecemberBelle, I love Fire & Ice too! It's like flowers, vanilla & musk mixed together.

I second this! I love Avon's Naturals in their Vanilla scent. I highly recommend the body lotion and body mist. Those two together will last me all day. Very vanilla-y... not at ALL like the B&BW weird musky alcohol WVS scent.

I love The Body Shop Vanilla too. Another one that has been a favorite is L'occitane Vanilla. I like VS Vanilla too, though.

I know she said she doesn't like VS but Vanilla Lace is so yummy. I don't even use the spray, I just layer the shower gel and body lotion{which don't smell like alcohol}. I get so many compliments on how good I smell when I wear this. But if she is really deadset against VS I have to agree with the recs. for Lavanilla. I sniffed them at Sephora and they all smell yummy, esp. the Vanilla Grapefruit....

(I love some of their products so much I even talk their staff into buying them! haha). :D

TBS Vanilla EDT is my favorite vanilla scent. I wear it in the summer with their Coconut Body Butter, and this winter I wore it with their Vanilla Spice Body Butter. It's such a yummy, true vanilla. I hate the vanilla scents at B&BW - they're either overly sweet or contain way too much alcohol. TBS Vanilla is pure.

They still sell it, I just bought a bottle at Christmas. I just saw it at Walmart yesterday.

That's so funny because I was going to add to my suggestion list Avon Naturals Vanilla and TBS Vanilla because both are very pure. I went to TBS last night and sprayed some on. Sometime later I smelled something good. I realized it was TBS Vanilla.
