So since I've been on spring break, I've decided to do some major spring cleaning in my room.

I went through my entire closet and wow.. I now have two big bags of clothes to give to the missions. These clothes are things that 1) either do not fit properly anymore 2) I've had since middle school/high school and is time to get rid of 3) things that are starting to look frumpy and worn

It feels so good to get rid of stuff, it makes me feel better.

Now onto shopping for more grown-up looking, yet chic clothing.

Yay! That can be such a hard thing... there's the "but what if i NEED it in a month?!?!!?" feeling. I recently counted and I have 17 cardigans and should purge. It's always a good feeling in the long run.

And more space in your closet!

Thats awesome! I'm on a cleaning kick too, I'm moving in a few months and the less crap to have to haul to my new place the better. All my shirts that have shrunk (I have a really long torso so it makes lots of things unwearable if they shrink too short) fit my shorter roommate so its nice to see the stuff go to a good home.

I just purged a lot of my clothing (not because I was Spring cleaning, but because of the fire), but I have to say that it feels really good to have less in my closet. I feel like I'm wearing and appreciating the pieces that I own more. Have fun shopping for more grown-up, chic clothing. I went through the same process two years ago when I got my first post-college job. I stopped shopping in the juniors section and went straight to misses. A great store if you have one in your area is New York and Company. Their clothes are youthful yet sophisticated. I like Kohl's as well, and Express.

good for you!! I always love cleaning out my closet and such...I feel to refreshed afterwards. I went through a bunch of my clothes this week too... I think I could probably fill up one bag, but that's so awesome how much you are giving away! :D

That's great! I can imagine how good it felt to do that. I do this twice a year - spring and fall. I actually look forward to it. I'm due for my annual spring cleaning. I need to do that within the next couple of weeks.

It's so kind of you to donate your unwanted clothes to charity. Kudos to you for thinking of others first and extra credit for getting housework done.

I bet that felt good! I need to do that too! I'm a fairly poor college student though, and I really cant afford that much new clothing. Well, not the kind of clothing I would like to be wearing anyway. So I'm always afraid to give things away, because I always remember how hard I worked for some of that stuff. I've been paying for my own clothes for as long as I can remember. But then holding onto all my old clothing, doesn't leave me any free room for anything. So I really need to get rid of a lot of it.

Oh man I SO need to clean out my closet.
Have a fantastic time shopping! Hope you get some great pieces and good bargains!

My Great Aunt owns a consignment store so some of the higher quality name brand stuff can go there, the rest will be thrift stored or rag bagged!
