Stemming from my other Love Advice post...What's the best advice you ever got for beauty (aside from the obvious sunscreen, eat healthy, and drink lots of water)?

Mine both came (again!) from my mom:
1. Always put moisturizer on your neck...otherwise you'll end up with a chicken neck. Funny, but probably true.

2. Other people don't see or notice your superficial flaws as much you see them.

Lotion is the cheapest eyemakeup remover, and conditioner is a great shaving cream.

Blow drying and straightening colored hair every day WILL fry it.

Blondes should generally avoid black black eyeliner.

This is kind of cliche but I've just come to realize how important it is in the last few years....

Always wear something with SPF in it on your face!!

DOn't use skincare w/ alcohol denat in it - it WILL mess up your hydration levels!
Always wear sunscreen on your neck - otherwise it will be darker than your face.

So of course wear sunscreen, drink water.....

Lemon juice makes an awesome toner, exfoliating is your friend.
A little bit goes a long way!
And treat yourself well, you'll always look fantastic.

Aside from the obvious and off the top of my head...

-Blowdry hair downward (literally straight down) for sleek smooth hair. My hair dresser's been telling me this for a long time but I didn't quite do it properly until I got a concentrator attachment. It made a huge difference and I wish I realized this before I bought a flat iron.

-Expensive products are not necessarily better.

-Get eyebrows properly shaped and groomed. It makes a big difference.

-Less is more. That goes for makeup as well as skincare.

-Following every single fashion trend is not a good idea. Just do the ones that are flattering for you.

ITA! Most people won't notice the random blemish or other flaws that you see. What they will see is your confidence levels drop, which is not very attractive. It's not easy, but I've learned to let it go and be okay with myself as I am.

-It's always best to apply a little makeup and build off it, rather than having too much on...less is always more!

-There is a time and place for makeup looks...so a really black smokey eye probably isn't appropriate for my office.

Get lots of sleep and exfoliate everyday.

Back in my early teens I started breaking out really bad. I was staying with my aunt and she told me to keep my hair off my face while at home. And thats what I do the second I get home. I wash off my makeup and wear my hair up in a headband. It really helped.

For me, nothing is better all around than a sufficient amount of sleep, drinking plenty of water, and wearing sunscreen.

For makeup splurge on things like foundation, spend less on things you have to replace often, like mascara. Take a daily multivitamin. For some people 9-10 hours of sleep each night is best. It is for me!:p A simpler skin care routine usually works better, use SPF daily regardless of the weather or where you live. Exercise is not only great for your health, but keeps you looking more youthful. Treat the skin on your neck, chest, and hands the same way you do your face. Wear sunglasses outdoors. Wear great colors in clothing for you near your face to brighten/soften your complexion, sparkly earrings can do the same thing. Use good posture, too. Lots of H2O! I hear essential oils are great for the skin and can make a person look younger than their counterparts when used regularly and over time. If I think of more I will post it later!:D

Oh yeah, also when washing your face do not use a towel to dry it off, you could be putting film from soaps or conditioners or dryer sheets back onto your face. Instead, allow your face to air dry or blot with a paper towel. Also, using a body oil in the shower at the end of it can help keep skin softer than any lotion. After bathing & still standing in the shower apply a body oil all over yourself and rinse off. Carefully blot dry with a towel, do not rub. Be aware though that your bathtub may be slippery, so exercise caution, or after getting out of the shower stand on your bath mat and apply the body oil of choice to wet skin, only towel blot or air dry. I did this a long time ago after hearing someone suggest it and it worked so well. It was very nice!:D

I'm kinda blank but one thing I notice women doing often is tweezing their eyebrows too far apart and just too much in general...but do not tweeze your brows too far apart...it just looks horrible and can ruin your looks!

OH and another thing I noticed at the mall the last time is so many women looking like they have on a mask of makeup! Go easy on the foundation! And unless you're really young...too much color looks ridiculous and clown like!

*giggles* oh ILYF I totally agree!

Look at yourself in natural light before heading out...

I forgot to add that when you're washing your face massage/work the cleanser on your face for about 1 minute before washing it off. It should get every bit of oil, dirt and makeup off. I read that in an old allure mag by a derm regarding breakouts because of not thoroughly cleansing your face.
