I normally buy a specific brand and type of lettuce/greens for my salads. The last time I went to the store, they were out of it, so I bought (same brand) baby spinach leaves instead.

I cannot believe how long these have stayed crisp and fresh in my refrigerator compared to the lettuce/greens!

The lettuce/greens last about a week.

The spinach leaves are still crisp & fresh and it's been 2 weeks. Normally, I would have had all this eaten, but I went out of town for a few days and had dinner plans out last week...so didn't get eaten within the normal timeframe.

Is this normal?? If that's the case, I'm going to switch to spinach leaves just for the shelf life and less potential waste.

Spinach leaves are better for you, too. :)

I think it might be the batch that you bought. I've had salad greens go bad pretty quickly. Other times they seem to last for a long time (yes, like two weeks also). Maybe try the same brand for a while and see how it goes? And let us know what brand it is! :)

Baby spinach always lasts longer in my fridge too...
when I don't eat it all right away. :D

Now I'm puzzled too. I read that bagged salad mixes of any kind don't last as long as unbagged produce. But let me know if the spinach always stays fresh longer than the other greens. TIA!
