All I can say is WOW! I will never go back to tweezing on my own or waxing!
I didn't even think I had enough hair to work with (I butchered my own brow ... brilliant), and figured the salon would send me away to come back w/regrowth. But this amazing woman just went to town on my brows, and they've never looked so good! Even the butchered one looked like she repaired it!
Amaaaaaaazing :-) And highly recommended! A million times rec'd!

That sounds amazing, Christine. I might have to find somewhere locally that does threading. How did you find the salon you're going to?

Heh, I wanted to get threading done but most of the places I found are kinda far and as you know I love the lady that does my brows now;) but it is still something I'd like to try.

I like to get my brows shaped once a year or so (and I tweeze to maintain), and I would really like to get them threaded this year instead of waxed. I don't know if there'll be threading in my area, but I hope so!

ITA!
I tried waxing again once last April, just to see if maybe my skin could tolerate it. A year later, you can *still* see the little scars from where I either broke out or started bleeding. With threading, I'm a little pink for an hour or so, that's it.

I went to this little Indian beauty salon down the street from me (our general area is very Indian-populated, and many targeted businesses are popping up as a result), and I'd seen it a million times with the word THREADING on the window. I always thought about it, never did anything about it.
I used to do my own brows easily, because prior to my eye surgery, I was so near-sighted that I could see into my own pores LOL. But after LASIK, it wasn't so easy, so I tried waxing at my nail salon. The owner does a half-assed job, to be honest -- she's always in a rush, so it's a 50/50 shot that they'll come out decently.
It turns out that my neighbor down the street mentioned this place and that she'd gone there with her daughters, and her brows looked incredible, so I finally took the plunge. It was SO worth it!
Like I mentioned, I didn't even think I had enough to work with, but apparently, I did, and they look flawless now!
If you're interested, I highly recommend looking into your yellow pages for a list of beauty salons, and look for one that caters to an Indian clientele. It's so worth the search (I just lucked out having one down the street)!

I'll totally have to ask around for a place in town.
I usually don't have a problem with just waxing or tweezing, but this sounds like a treat.

OH, and I should mention how cheap it was! Only FIVE BUCKS!
I was so thrilled with the results, I tipped her 100% (hey, I used to spend 10 just getting waxed, so I wanted to show some love) :).

I've been wondering about threading. We get requests for it all the time, but we don't offer it at the spa I work in.

Wow that is so cheap!!! I've never had my brows thread, but my sis-in-law swears by it. I may have to have it done one day tho, I think Indian shops are probably the best places to get brow threading.

It's funny that you started this thread, Christine, because just yesterday my husband asked me if I had ever heard of brow threading. A girl that sits in the cubicle next to his at work started telling him that she had it done and it was so gentle that she didn't feel a thing. She was asking him if I had ever tried it. She's a huge MAC fan too, so he is always saying how much she is like me (she better watch out! LOL J/K). Anyway, I've always been interested in it but don't know any places around me that offer it. I would have to research locations. I'm really happy with the person who does my brows though. She does my nails too, and I've been going to her for years. I've been waxing my brows since my teenage years, and I'm immune to the pain now and hardly get red anymore, so it really doesn't bother me. I would love to try threading though just for the experience, and yes it is cheaper. My brow wax costs me $10 and I do it every two weeks (I pluck strays daily).

Another plus for threading that I forgot to write about earlier: I refuse to wax my brows (or anything for that matter!) because I'm really worried that all that sticking and pulling ruins the elasticity in the skin. I def. don't want saggy eyes and brows when I'm older.
Threading is wonderful, isn't it? We have an Indian-owned salon in our town & they do threading for $7 or 8. One time I got an apprentice threader & she ended up threading off a layer of my eyelid skin! Ouch! It looked like a bad burn. But that one bad experience doesn't discourage me from going. :)
Oh, and Christine, I LOVE your new avatar! You look SO chic! :)

Ouch, that sounds really painful Anna! I admire you for your bravery in going back there though. At least she was an apprentice so she sort of had an excuse.

I've heard how great threading is also, but never tried it. To be honest, I've never had my brows waxed either. I have sparse and light brows, and I'm always afraid salons might mess it up, and I don't want to lose any more hair than what little I already have, lol.

Marisa, I'd be all over your husband's co-worker asking where she gets hers done lol! There's gotta be SOMEplace close to you if one of his colleagues is going out and getting this done, right? (Dooooo it!)
Anna, OMG, OW! I can't even imagine lol ... but everyone has to start out someplace, right? And clearly, it was worth trying out a 2nd time ;)! And thank you so much for the kind words on the new pic! *feels chic* :D

That's true LOL, although I'm not sure where she lives. I'll have to ask him.

I looked at the yellow pages online, and the closest place I found that does threading is like 45 minutes to an hour away. I'm still going to keep looking though. Doesn't mean there's not a local place I'm just missing!
