I always knew my skin was a little bit sensitive to certain products. But lately I'm reacting to everything with red, splotchy skin and a burning sensation all over my face, especially in areas where my face sweats, like on my chin and forehead. I find that antiaging eye creams irritate the skin around my eyes. Any type of sunscreen, chemical or physical based, irritates my whole face; and any type of foaming cleanser burns like wildfire. What's wrong with my skin?

You must be using products that have a common ingredient you're allergic to. I'm in the same boat. The best thing you can do is buy children's Benadryl (the liquid kind) to get rid of your reaction. Then, use products that are really gentle-I recommend Cetaphil cleanser and Dove Dry Skin cream (or their other lotions are great too).

I agree with Becky, and I know how you feel because last month I was having this same problem. I discovered that I was allergic to products that contained sunflower seed oil (I had a bad reaction when I ate sunflower seeds as a little kid but really never thought about it in my products), and sure enough when I stopped using those products the itching stopped! I was using a lot of bath/body products that contained it, like my shave gel and body lotion, so I had a horrible allergic reaction up and down both of my legs. It was not fun!

It could be too that your skin is already irritated from some allergic reaction, and now everything is irritating it. You might want to try a really gentle routine for awhile to see if you can't get your skin back in shape.

Stop using any product that causes an allergic reaction immediatly. Even if it is supposed to be a good product, it is obviously not healthy for your skin. I would recommend going to a cosmetician and getting a facial. She can help you pick out products that are suitable for your skin type. Or try a dermatologist??? I don't know, but there is probably a certain common ingredient in the products that is causing your skin to lash out. Take the bottles of the products and try to see if there is a common ingredient in all of them. Maybe you will solve the mystery!

I totally agree with this because this is how I solved my allergic reaction mystery. Compare the labels to see if there is one significant ingredient that stands out on all of them.
