I want to try EM again...I thought I found the perfect shade last time I ordered the free kits but then I figured it was too light/too yellow and weird-looking (i used Winged Butter and Light, Golden Fair was too light). I ordered the free kits twice hoping to find a perfect match (out of 6) and no luck AT ALL now I see they have added new shades but I can't order free kits anymore because of the limit :(

These are the shades I am looking at:

Warm- Medium Beige
Warm- Medium Beige Summer

Olive- Light Olive
Olive- Golden Medium
Olive- Olive Medium

I'm about an NC25-30 in MAC, I used Fairly Light in BE and that was a pretty close match...my skin is totally fair though I have been told it is by almost everyone. I have yellow undertones for sure. Sometimes my face can be a little pink but I would like to neutralize it by adding yellow :) What shades should I get?

Also, which formulas run darker/lighter? I am interested in both Matte and Original Glo.

TIA all! :D

I'm thinking Golden Medium and Warm Med Beige would be good bets. Also Light Neutral...I'm maybe 2 shades darker than you and those were all a tiny bit light on me. Light Olive is actually my best match out of all of them, but I never could find a perfect match :p

Jess, I'm not sure about shades, but I'm sure it's taken some people more than 2 kits to find a perfect match. I've had more than 2 kits, so I'd email CS and ask, or just try to order. I've never had any problem.

I think we have the same coloring but I never found a match with EM after they renamed the colours. I was the original Light in Intensive and that was so perfect.

For me Light was too dark and Golden Fair too light. If you use Intensive its darker than the other colours. I think I would have to mix Golden Fair with Light to get something close otherwise I would try to lighten my skin a bit to get it to match Golden Fair.

I really don't think there's a limit to how many free kits you can order. I've ordered 4 kits total (all placed at different times) and never had a problem. I know you can only place one free kit per order placed (you have to pay the shipping everytime you order a kit) but I don't know of any limit. I just think they don't want you placing 2 or more free kit orders at a time.

I'm NC25-30 and my perfect match is between Light Olive and Olive Fair (I mix 50:50 combo of each) so I really think yours would fall in between those two shades as well. I use the matte formula. I initially thought I was around Golden Fair and Golden Light because I do have yellow tones in my skin but something was just off with those foundations shades matching my skin. Once I tried the Olive shades the match was so perfect. :)

Thank you ladies! I was able to order another kit without a problem...I guess I just misunderstood the policy or something :(

I ended up getting:
-Warm- Medium Beige Summer (just in case I get darker)
-Olive- Light Olive and Golden Medium (from the recs above)
-Sunlight concealer
-Waffle Cone Blush...from all the raves here! I wanted Corner Office but I think I'll just order a full-size along with all the other colours :p when I order the full-size foundations (if I find a good match).

Claudia, I had the same problem with Light and Golden fair...they were okay but not perfect and I hate mixing foundations! I think they were too yellow or something. If the shades I ordered dont work, I'll check out the Buff and Beige range next.

Anyway, thanks again. Oh and I hate you all for getting me obsessed with EM! :p I joke, I joke...

I hope you find a shade that works for you this time, Jess!

I'm MAC NC35/C4 & Light Olive Intensive is a perfect match for me! When I get a bit of sun, I do get some peachy tones, so I'll mix the Light Olive with Light or Sandy Medium (depending on how dark I get). Good luck finding the right match! I ordered 9 kits before I found the right match (although I started with EM a little over 2 years ago, when they had QC issues with color-mixing consistency & only had a handful of colors to choose from, in addition to only 2 formulas).

Great Zoe! Thank you for that! Don't the Intensive shades run a little darker than the other formulas? I thought I read that on here a while back.

Hopefully this is the last kit I have to order...do you remember how long it takes to ship? Or how long you think it will take to ship overseas? Back home it only took a few days to a week so hopefully this doesnt take an entire month lol :)
