Hi everyone,

I've been lurking around here for the longest time :D

Has anyone taken Accutane the second time around? If you have, can you tell me the results of your second session? does the acne stop completely or do you have the occasional breakout?

I took it a year ago and it cleared up my severe acne. I still have mild acne and is going back on accutane for a 2nd session. I'm hoping I don't have to do a third session and wondering if two sessions will be enough to get rid of it all.

thanks in advance :D
Betty

Accutane was a godsend for me. It was the only thing that worked. I took it 3 times. This last time I noticed my hair thinning and falling out and feeling really tired. It did help my skin tremendously but I just can't be on it anymore cause it's too much for my body.
It cleared the breakouts and I had absolutely no oil which was great. I did still get clogged pores and blackheads.
I don't believe it will ever go away completely. Now I use Glycolic Acid, Proactiv, Bio-Oil, exfoliation, and masks to keep up with my skin. I'm also on birth control which clears hormonal acne. Accutane was great though but I'm done with it. I hope the 2nd round works for you. :)

I took Accutane almost four years ago, and it was a godsend for me as well! I still get breakouts from time to time, but they are very mild and I'm able to control them with good skincare products. I never get cystic acne before like I did with Accutane.

I think a second round of Accutane will probably help more - if I'm not mistaken, it shrinks the oil-producing glands, so hopefully a second course will further do that for you. Good luck with it!

Thank you all for the replies:) I feel less anxious going on Accutane again. I just have serious beef with my oil glands. If Accutane can reduce them down to normal people's size, I'll be forever grateful. :p
