-When I find a movie I like. I watch it over and over for days/weeks at a time. Usually because I don't feel like taking the dvd out of the player.
-my first two celebrity crushes were Brad Renfro and Heath Ledger:(
-I always have dreams where my teeth fall out.
-I've had sleeping problems since I was 12. It takes me 2-3 hours to fall asleep even with a sleep aid.
-My brother slammed my pointer finger and middle finger in a car door when I was about 5. My cuticles don't grow in right anymore.
-When I'm nervous I grind my teeth and my face turns red.
-I'm allergic to beer.
- I love turning the captions on when I watch movies or tv.
-My brother and I text each other throughout the day. It's always Family Guy, Loveline, or Chapelle's Show quotes.
-I cuss frequently but I hate saying "f**k". I only use that word when I'm really really angry or drunk.:p
-my favorite midnight snacks are peanut butter and honey on toast, string cheese, and Skinny Cows
-I was born 1 hour and 15 minutes after my mom's water broke.
-I hate pasta, jello, and hot dogs

*though I was born a blonde, my inspiration to become a redhead came immediately after watching "Sixteen Candles" and wanting to emulate Molly Ringwald. I've been a redhead ever since (give or take a few experimental colors ;) ).

*while I'm careful about what I say in most situations, the "real" me has the mouth of a drunken sailor.

*I honestly didn't think I'd have kids lol.

*I love to sing, and recently got involved with a band (because on the inside, I still wanna be a rock star ;) ) -- our first show is this Friday at a comedy club!

Hmmm ... that's all I can think of at the moment!

-I have a lot of OCD stuff: the volume thing on the TV like Becky is just one of them...

-The women in my family on my mother's side can only have children of one gender, they only have boys or only have girls, if they are pregnant with a child from the other sex, they have miscarriages...And it's in a specific order too: the oldest sister will have girls, the second: boys, the third: girls, etc... It's been that way for 6 generations...So I'll probably have girls :)

-My husband and I have fun together all day long, mainly because we talk (and email) in quotes from the Office, Friends, Arrested development ,30 Rock and That 70's show...:D

-and maybe not everybody here know this but I'm a french canadian from Quebec and spoke only french for most of my life...We had english classes in school but not enough to be fluent...When I started working with my dad and decided not to go to college, I promised myself I would become fluent in english by myself, I read a lot of english magazines/books, only watch TV and movies in english now (it's way better anyway!) and my husband and I communicate a lot in english too...We want our kids to be raised in a billingual environnement. Being on this forum and MUA helped A LOT! My english is no way near perfect but it's good enough to feel confortable in a conversation...I'm proud of this! I dream in english sometimes now, it's so cool!!

I love this thread!! (BTW Kiki, I would never have known from your posts that English wasn't your first language - you write in it very well!)

1) I really only have two interests - sports and makeup/skincare. This explains my odd career path - I majored in Sports Management and worked for three years for a professional baseball team. Now I work at a day spa and will be going back to school in the fall to become a licensed esthetician.

2) I am obsessed with penguins! I collect anything and everything with penguins on it, especially my 15+ pairs of penguin socks. :D

3) I loved New Kids on the Block growing up and am very excited about their possible reunion.

4) I was born one month early, and weighed only 3 pounds, 15 ounces.

5) I really don't enjoy eating meat that much and try to find healthy ways to eat without having it, but about 1-2x a month I get a really intense craving and have to get a Big Mac.

-I always drink a glass water before going to bed.
-I love all types of cheeses (yes, including bleu cheese, my favorite)
-I have a hard time falling asleep without the t.v. or radio on.
-Anything green colored or with sunflowers or daisies, catches my attention. I went to the mall with a friend and kept pointing out random green colored things.
-I don’t like BBQ sauce because of a dream I had. It grosses me out. I don’t mind BBQ flavored potato chips,..…just the sauce.
-Alcoholic drinks make me yawn a lot. I average about 4 alcoholic drinks a year.
-I have a high tolerance for spicy foods. I started eating jalapenos at age 8.
-My nose if very sensitive to cigarette smoke. I can smell it up to about 30 feet away and sometimes more and I can’t stand it. I start to choke and am not able to talk with the slightest bit around me.
-Regardless of what the movie is about, I’ll watch any movie with Christopher Walken, Benecio Del Toro, Gael Garcia Bernal, Zach Braff and any SNL alumni (Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Amy Pohler, etc.).
-If I can’t get anyone to go see a particular movie or a band in concert with me, I’ll go by myself. I hate being dependent on other’s people’s desires to do things so I’ve learned to do stuff myself. I don’t know if this is strange to a lot of you but a lot of people I know think it is so I just though I’d mention it.
-I get a happy high from using coupons. I’ve gone grocery shopping at a store where they double coupons and my grocery total went from $28 to $12 with coupons.

- I love turning the captions on when I watch movies or tv.
I do this too. :)

--I ALWAYS fall asleep with the TV on. I can only fall asleep in a dark, quiet room if someone else is there with me.

--When driving alone at night I sometimes get scared that there's someone in my backseast, out of nowhere. I could be driving for like 15 minutes and then all of a sudden I'll get paranoid there's someone there *lol*.

--I love to watch Degrassi even though it's a show for teens and I'm 24.

--I'm a make-up junkie but only own 3 MAC products, a lot of people think that's weird

--I sucked my thumb till I was 7

* I secretly love NASCAR
* I have a slight obsession with the number 3. I'd never set a microwave for 1:30...it needs to be 1:33. I have my alarm clock set so I wake up at 6:03.
* I'm basically inept when it comes to shaving my legs in a shower, I need to take a bath to do it well.
* When I was a baby, I ate 12 castor beans (they grow beautiful plants, that's why my mom had them, and I managed to get to where she thought they'd be safe). That's what they use to make the biological warfare agent ricin. 8 beans are fatal to an adult. But because I swallowed them whole (didn't have enough molar power to crush them up yet) I was ok, though I did have to go to the ER and have my stomach pumped.
* My sister and I are both lefties, but our parents are righties...people tend to think that's odd.

That's interesting. You just reminded me of something I forgot to mention......

-The number 33 appears ALOT in my everyday life.
-->The last two digits of my phone number are 33
-->The last two digits of my driver license are 33
-->The computer outlet at my workstation at work is #233
-->The last two digits of my ATM card are 33
-->There's been three different restaurants that I've been to where the waitress sits me and whomever I'm with at table 33. One of the times, the bill total for our table was $33.33. I'm not kidding.
-->I went to a movie screening a few weeks ago where they handed out numbered tickets and mine was #33
-->The rubber bands I use at work and re-order are size 33 (I didn't notice until the first time I had to re-order.

....there are alot of other things. I brought this up to my co-workers and they've started noticing how the number pops up when I'm around.

Heh, I do that with movies too Rachel. Right now Unrated Eurotrip has been in my DVD player for like 5 days. I've watched it at least twice a night since I put it in there. We have tons of movies but I always watch the same 4 or 5.

I also like to put the captions on.

Um, as for some others...

I weighed ten pounds when I was born. In fact the last 3 of my moms five children all weighed ten pounds or more.

When I start watching a movie or TV show it really has to be totally, horribly bad before I turn it off. In fact, sometimes even if a TV show or movie is horrible I'll watch it a few more times like I think it might get better. Obviously with movies it never does;)

I've never not had a pet. I was pretty much the crazy cat lady when I was five;)

Even though I've lived in pretty warm places my whole life I hate the heat. In fact I hate pretty much any temp over 74. I love it when it's between 40-50.

OMG, me TOO! I love this show lol, and I'm 39! And I love how it tackles real issues head on, as opposed to tiptoeing around them like some American shows!

I'm glad someone else watches Degrassi besides me, I thought I was the only one *lol* It's funny cause there was a movie called Charlie Bartlett that came out a few months ago and there were like 3 of the actors from Degrassi in it that played small, random parts. Whenever one of them came on screen I was like "Oh my god that's Paige", or whoever it was. The friend I went with was like, what the crap are you talking about? ha

*I sing super loud while driving when no one is with me. Apparently, I think I'm Celine Dion when I'm alone. I never sing in front of anyone except my daughter.

*I play Animal Crossing everyday.

*I pull tarot cards daily and read about the card I picked. It's been about 8 years now since I've been doing that and I still haven't gone thru each card on the deck yet.

*I get nervous around office equipment.

*I haven't had any desire to make friends since I left high school.
*I LOOOOOVE dogs...if I see one I just have to say "DOGGIE!!!!!!!":) Pretty much like most women when they see a baby but I don't much care for babies, just dogs!:p
*My favorite band is AC/DC-give me AC/DC and a beer(but I don't drink anymore) and I'm happy.

*I could easily be a recluse if I had the money!

umm...

*My mom said I was born with curly hair like it was permed or something. My hair now only has a slight wave but sometimes I see corkscrew-like curls on single strands when it is wet.

*I used to have a gap between my two front teeth that braces didn't quite fix. But when I stopped using my retainer the gap closed on it's own.

*I give weird, cutesy nicknames to my immediate family (now including dh)...and they eventually answer to it. :) My brother even named his computer one of my nicknames I gave him.

*When I was little (like kindergarten) I loved listening to a particular Chinese opera/musical that my mom had on tape (for those of you who might know it, it was called something like Gong San Mei Yan, in Cantonese). I had no idea what they were saying but sang along with it all the time.

*I made up a language when I was little and only my brother could understand it.

*When I was little I liked reading the encyclopedia. Went to the library and literally started from A-Z.

*I was a weird kid. And am still a little wacky (though only those close to me see it.) :D

I think I'm allergic to wine. The two times that I sipped some wine I got seriously ill (i.e. stomach pain and vomiting). I probably only had less than a 1/4 of a glass each time too. Hate to see what happens if I had more.

I also like the captions when possible. Sometimes I check to see if the captions match what they actually say. lol. In foreign films sometimes the translation is a bit off.

Oh I like the girl that plays Darcy. I love her hair. I didn't even know there was going to be a new 90210, that was my fave show in 5th grade *lol* I had to watch it secretly though because my mom thought it was too mature for me. Dylan was like my first crush. :)

this is fun !!

* i love words. games like scrabble and literati...any kind of word game. also fascinated with the linguistics. used to get in trouble in elementary school for reading the dictionary instead of paying attention. keke.

* i play a few games of sudoku every night while semi-watching tv. helps me decompress.

* i have naturally curly hair which is odd for a korean girl. most koreans have pin straight hair, some have wavy hair. i have hair that naturally looks like its been with curlers keke.

* i always cut all of my meat before i eat, even when im famished. i also devise ways to ensure proportionality. the first & last bite and an equal amount of whatever was on my plate

* i never sit or lay in my bed unless i have showered. sounds crazy. i have germ issues lol

* i prefer silence to noise. i cannot sleep with the tv or music on. as much as i love music, i like to do things in silence time to time.

* i feel silly admitting how proud i am of myself for everything i have accomplished in life. i get uncharacteristically shy when this is kind of thing is even mentioned. but inside, i think of it everyday.

* as much as i love being girly, if it werent for my ridiculously dark undereye circles, id only wear makeup 2-3 times a week. my favorite part of the day is actually taking off my makeup. i always think how much better my skin looks. but i could never 'just' wear concealer. poop!

* I'm the same way as Becky with unpacking luggage.

* I'm the opposite of Stacey as far as baby weight goes. I was a week late and weighed 11.5 lbs! My mom did NOT have gestational diabetes, and I was a C-section.

* My mom scheduled a C-section with me for December 26, so she wouldn't be in the hospital for Christmas. She went into labor and gave birth to me on December 23, so she was in the hospital for Christmas anyway!

* I'm a black belt in karate. I got it when I was 16. I quit soon after to take drivers ed, then school and college and everything else happened, and I never went back. I wish I had the time to do so now...

Some people think I am an only child, when in fact I am one of ten children.

I was an extra on the tv series Touched by an Angel off and on in the year 2001 and in Stephen King's Fire Starter tv series as well when I used to live in SLC, Utah. I got to play a nun, a freak angel, concert go-er, mall walker, 10 year class reunion student, & stunned passerby on Touched by an Angel.

I was a model for a short while when I lived in Washington and Utah.

I met Christopher Cross, Weird Al Yankovic, and Evan Adams.

I wrote half a children's book 3 years ago in 2 weeks, have yet to finish it. I love writing though.

I love listening to songs over and over and over. It makes some people mad. I do that with movies too, especially The Family Stone with Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel McAdams, Diane Keaton, Luke Wilson, Dermot Mulroney... I love that darn movie!!

I get star struck.

I was a basketball cheerleader in 7th grade, joined ROTC for a while in college, had to drop out cuz I was pregnant with my daughter. Strange leap I am told.

I have frequently seen the number 13 since 2003. A lot of the times when I look at the clock it is 13 past the hour, if someone calls me they call at 13 past the hour, when I am done talking with them it is 13 past the hour. I had one of my sisters look that up in one of her books about what that means and it had 2 possibilities, the second explanation made the most & only sense for me. It meant that my angels were looking out for me especially and wanted me to know that. Made a lot of sense since my life has been in dire need of angels since 2003, when I started seeing that number to begin with.

If I have a bad day I will notice what outfit I am wearing or what jewelry I have on and think maybe it jinxed me and I am reluctant to wear it again in the future, which sucks if I really liked it. I know, I am weird that way.:D I had even thought one particular day that I was so weird that if I could walk away from myself, I totally would. Tehe! No one knows just how silly I can be, well, maybe now they do! :D My family laughs at things I say, they get me at least. I have a dry sense of humor. My mom doesn't know where such a person as me came from. I always tell her I don't know, as if she really expected an answer.

I am usually hard to get to know unless you are related to me and have a history with me. I am a loner a lot of the time.

My best friend saved my life 1 1/2 years ago.

I very often have dreams where I am trying hard to explain myself to someone to get them to believe me or understand me, and my mouth fills with tasteless peanut butter and I cannot hardly speak, and they walk away from me and I feel so angry and wonder why they won't give me the chance to be heard? I keep trying to take the peanut butter out of my mouth, but it won't go away. I feel like this in real life in dealings with certain people. Infuriating!! WHY?

I am not really 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, or 24 like people think I am. People have thought my son was my "little brother", my then husband was my dad, and my friend, who is 6 years younger than I am, thought she was my mother. Thanks mom for the slow-aging genes!

I do that too! One extreme example: I remember in kindergarten I threw up in class, and I happened to be wearing a bright yellow sundress (looking back, it was adorable). I didn't wear yellow again til I was in high school! Thank goodness I got past that one, I love yellow now---wearing it today in fact, lol :)

LOL, I used to watch Degrassi but just kinda stopped for no particular reason.

Thought of some more...

It doesn't matter how cold it is in the room, I can't cover up immediately when I get in bed. I have to give myself a few minutes to actually get cold enough.

Despite that I can't sleep unless I'm covered up at least a little. I have to at least have my feet covered. I'll turn the fan on high and even turn the A/C on if I have to.

If I'm sleeping in my bed (I sometimes sleep on the couch) I have to have at least a couple of the animals with me because I've gotten so used to them being there.

This one I didn't know until today - looking at baby clothes makes me tear up.

I pile blankets and body pillows on one side of my bed so I don't feel like I'm sleeping alone.

I LOVE numbers, 3, 9, 8, 2 and 22 especially... for some reason.
(maybe this is why I'm a banker?)

I have a not-so-secret shoe obsession.

I always need to have something on top of me when I sleep, even if it's just a sheet covering half my body.

I'm the same way. I always need at least a sheet over me.

Other things people may not know about me?

I'm obsessed with having things in order at all times, whether it's my purse, my desk or the apartment. I'm constantly organizing the insides of drawers. I like all of my clothes facing the same way on the hangers in my closet. Even when I fold towels, they all have to be folded the same way. I constantly write to-do lists. If things are out of place, I don't feel like I am "with it" and I feel like I'm going to freak out. I'm probably a little obsessive-compulsive.

I used to bite my nails practically down to the nail bed when I was a young girl and teenager. Without acrylics, I will start biting again. It's a terrible habit.

I've liked reading all of the Degrassi stuff, I have been obsessed with that show for the past few years and know way too much about the cast and behind the scenes stuff... hmm can that be a thing people may not know about me? I don't necessarily go bragging about my knowledge of Canadian teen dramas ;)

*I can do a pretty good impersonation of PeeWee Herman and I started doing it when I was like 9? maybe 10...because of that my family's nicknamed me PeeWee for life.

*I have grown up in the Catholic church, however I was baptized only last year (Easter Vigil 2007). My parent's decided to leave the decision up to me, and I don't think I could have made a better one for my life. I love being Catholic :)

*I only started liking make up because my sister liked it...so I tend to blame my slight obsession on her ;)

*I am putting myself through college.

*I want to one day be a child psychologist/counselor. I'm planning on teaching for a few years after I get my degree/certification and while I'm doing that I'll work on my masters in developmental learning disorders, aimed at children 1-12 yrs.

*I forget who posted it, but if I'm driving alone or babysitting I'm always freaked out someone is either a) in the car/room with me or b) following me (if I'm in a car).

I think that's about it....I'm a weird person :)

Like some of the others, I have to have something covering me when I'm sleeping. Even if it's insanely hot in the summer, I'll put a sheet over some part of me.

I don't really like odd numbers. I always set the volume on even numbers, and if I'm buying multiples of something, it has to be an even number. I'm trying not to do that anymore, though, because even I think it's weird. :p

I'm constantly making lists.

I'm insanely excited about the current election, and politics in general. I can't wait to vote in the primaries here this Tuesday. :D

I'm a total night owl. If it was up to me, I'd stay up until 6 AM and sleep until 2 PM everyday.

There are probably lots more because I'm a pretty strange person :p, but that's all I can think of for now.

**I was born with jet black hair which proceeded to turn platinum blonde and then turned to a reddish brown color.

**Wedding planning made me really like lists and organizing stuff.

**I say a prayer every time I get into my car to drive somewhere b/c I hate driving and it scares me.

**My favorite sandwich consists of roasted bbq chicken, roasted red peppers, cheese, avocados, mayo & sub oil

**I HATE it when people leave me voice mail. I don't know why, I just do. Especially when it is about nothing important at all.

**When things in my life feel out of control, I have dreams about being in car crashes.

**I like to eat canned ravioli straight from the can

I eat food in phases. For the last couple of months or so, I'd been really into Taco Bell, and I'd always eat the same thing: bean burrito, crunchy taco, and nachos. I'm over that now, and my new thing is a Big Mac. Give it a few weeks, and I'll move on to something else.

I'd eventually like to write a novel. I've got all kinds of ideas, and even as I read now, I'll be like, "God, that's a great line." I'm really trying to pay attention to other people's craft.

I often feel like I'm paralyzed by fear. There's a lot I want to do, but I'm afraid to do it.

I won't swim in the ocean here in NC, or anywhere where I can't see what's in the water around me.

I'm terrified of bees.

I like things to be clean but I hate to actually clean.

I tend to do things in 3's. I have my ex-boyfriend to thank for that, but now I can't stop doing it.

I was born about 9 weeks premature and only weighed 2 lbs. 11 ounces. I spent the first 5 weeks of my life in the hospital.

It's really funny to me reading about all of you that have to be covered up to sleep. I always sleep on my side, and I can't fall asleep unless the blanket/covers are covering up my ear that is on the "up" side. I actually read a book when I was little with a character that had to sleep like that, and when I tried it I found it really comfortable and it became a habit.

I'm the same way! My boyfriend doesn't get why I need to have the comforter up to my chin even in the summer!

I forgot about that, I have to sleep covered up too. Even when our air was broken last summer, and it was like 90 degrees, I had to be covered up with a sheet or I couldn't sleep. I think it's a comfort thing.

Same thing with the covers on me too! My husband says I look like I'm in a cocoon, if it's cold at all I have my covers all the way up to my ears and kind of wrap them around my arms to where I look like I'm in a cocoon. :D If it's hot, I will have a sheet on me up to my ribs anyway. I don't really like my arms out of the covers though unless it really hot.
