I tried doing a board search on this topic but couldn't find anything, so... does anyone have any recs. for a product I can apply before make-up that will help control oil and make pores look smaller? Primers do not control oil for me, I am looking more for a product specially designed to control oil. I was thinking of purchasing the Cosmedicine Medi-Matte lotion but it has awful reviews on MUA. I would LOVE any suggestions you ladies have. I have found a wonderful foundation that I love{Clinque Almost Powder} but my oilies are causing problems. TIA :D

Paula Begoun recs a thin layer of Milk of Magnesium on the face to control oil. It does work but also gives you a very matte look and can look a bit whitish. Very thin layer! Otherwise, you can dust your face with a bit of kaolin powder before or after. You can get oil controlling powders from many mineral companies. I think some you use before and some you use after to control oil.

I got a sample of the medi-matte and it worked for me. It's kinda thick when you put it on, but it did the job for me. I tested it out at the hotel i work with, that has an indoor pool that is in the middle of the lobby. lol

I've heard raves for Px's oil-control moisturizer. It might be worth looking into. I've also heard raves for MAC's.

Prescriptives All You Need Fast Acting Moisturizer for Oilier Skin is wonderful!
I never thought a moisturizer would control oil so well. You should get some samples at the Px counter and try it out. :)

Spa Aquatique's Stabilizing Cream Gel (http://www.europeanbeautycollection.com/brands/spa_aquatique/24_stabilizing_cream_gel.php) works really well for my oily face. It is very light and quickly absorbed. Since it is balancing, it moisturizes, too. I love this under makeup! A little goes a long way ... I still have the same jar I bought last July. So worth it! You can find it at Walgreens. They should have sample packets that last about a week, so try that first before getting the whole jar.
Milk of Magnesia, definitely! Be sure to buy the plain (unflavored) ones. They can be found with the antacids.
