Help!! I need a good and easy way to remove facial hair. Plucking is just becoming to time consuming. Any suggestions?
Thank you:eek:

I have my eyebrows waxed as I can't imagine not touching them during the electrolysis process. (No tweezing allowed during electrolysis, trimming only.)The waxing lasts 6-8 weeks and I sometimes have to tweeze a couple of hairs in between waxings.

Recently, the hair on my upper lip began to darken. For that, I am doing electrolysis. She's also doing any strays she notices on my chin (thankfully, not too many of those!) I'm not waxing there as I just want the hair gone, for good.

I had had electrolysis done on my breasts and stomach about 10 years ago, still no re-growth. That didn't hurt/sting at all, but the treatments to my lip sting. I ice before and after, but I figure for 15 minutes or so, I can stand anything.

HTH, Meg

So how much does something like that cost?

you might want to try threading.. it's cheaper than getting waxed, and it's more gentle on delicate facial skin.. as for random baby hairs on the face, bleach them if they're dark

I don't know what threading is. Please tell me about it.
Thanks

you can read all about it here: http://www.hairfacts.com/methods/threading.html

i know several people who do it on a regular basis, and they've had no problem with hyper-pigmentation.. it's easier on the skin than waxing anyway

hth :)

check out my post regarding the epicare. it's a great item---looks kind of strange but it's better, fater, and longer lasting then tweezing.... it's basically a threading machine you use on yourself. check it out it's cheaper alternative to electrolysis and laser hair removal----- www.facialhairthreading.com (http://www.facialhairthreading.com)

I just used Facial Brush-on by Nair and it took half my skin off. I'm wearing 2 layers of panstik now to cover the huge hot red blotches - thank god I don't have to go out until next week !!:)

I have that little gadget called Finishing Touch that I use to remove the baby-fine hairs on my face and the hairs on my upper lip. It works wonderfully, and I only have to do it once a month. It only costs $10 too and can be found at most drugstores.

As for my eyebrows, I get them waxed once a month and pluck any stray hairs in-between waxings.

I don't use this product on my face, but Jolen Cream Bleach is excellent for bleaching dark hair and can also be found at drugstores. I use it to bleach the hair on my arms. Results last about a month as well.

Finishing Touch is a small battery-powered hair removal device. Sorry if that sounds weird, but I really don't know any other way to describe it. It doesn't hurt at all - you just rub the small metal edge over the hairs on your face and it takes them right off. It doesn't leave any redness. I'm sure if you google it you can find a picture online, or check a website like drugstore.com. HTH!

ok thanks, it's listed on ebay and also Woolworths although out of stock . I will get it on ebay, it looks good. The cream was hellish and I still have red blotches after 5 days. It's for those soft fluffy fair hairs at the side of your face. I don't have a moustache yet. Although that one is probly still to come, and one day I will wake up with a 5" long black one that curls at the ends... Oh the joys of being OLD !!!

I wax my upper lip once a month or so (*cringe*) and I use these Sally Hansen wax strips. You warm them in your hands, pull them apart and wax.

Laser hair removal has become very common and inexpensive. You may want to try it out. After one treatment hair normally grow after 2 or 3 months which is a sufficient period. With other methods hair usually grow back after a week or so. After laser treatment you may also want to bleach your hair. These are the only two methods that I use and I'm very much satisfied.

I would suggest getting your facial hair removed professionally. You can get rid of the hair by having laser treatments or infra red. All of the plucking and waxing ends up making your hair thicker and darker. It's a big no no. Getting the hair removed professionally may be pricey, but don't forget, the results last for years! :)

All I wax is brows and I'm strictly a let-someone-else-do-it kinda girl on that one. I've actually removed layers of skin before with hot wax, so I know better than to try it on myself any more. A friend of mine had good results when she went to a professional to have the finer "baby hairs" on the sides of her face and on her upper lip waxed. Lazers and electrolysis are more permanent solutions but can get expensive. I'd suggest talking to an esthetician about affordable solutions.

Thanks for all your help. I got the Tweez'e hair remover and it is ok but still doesn't get it all and it grows back fast. I can't afford to go to a professional so I am kind of on my own. I have used the Nair and things like that but my skin is very sensitive so that is not an option either. I have not tried the threading but can't afford to right now.

I'm thinking about getting electrolysis done on my upper lip but want to go to a good place so that it can be done properly. Are there any sites that have good recommendations or who should I ask? My derm?
Thanks.
